Dynamics Of Explosion Remnants In Earth-Orbits, Joseph T. Fuss
Dynamics Of Explosion Remnants In Earth-Orbits, Joseph T. Fuss
Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Theses & Dissertations
Explosions in space produce particles that are hazardous to space vehicles. Some of these particles are not trackable and their locations must be predicted by dynamical methods.
This investigation sheds light on three different, areas, First, ignoring perturbations, the characteristics of a three dimensional envelope outlined by the sum of individual particle orbits is determined, Second, the distribution of the particles is found as a function of time, Finally, the movement, of the body via secular perturbations is investigated. Magnitudes of the explosion, the point of. detonation in the parent satellite's orbit, and the radius of perigee of the parent …

Forming Of 7075-T6 Aluminum In High Pressure Environments, Richard L. Pendleton, Robert L. Davis
Forming Of 7075-T6 Aluminum In High Pressure Environments, Richard L. Pendleton, Robert L. Davis
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works
Plates of 7075-T6 Aluminum have been folded along a major axis in pressure environments of atmospheric, 20,000 psi, and 40,000 psi. A finite element computer program is used to determine the stress state in the plates at various loads. Tension and compression tests conducted in pressure environments up to 70,000 psi were used to construct models using effective stress, effective strain, and pressure as parameters to predict the behavior of the material under various stress conditions. A prediction of the occurrence of fracture in the folded plate was possible using the computer results and the pressure dependent model. As better …

Siphon Tubes For Furrow Irrigation In The Kimberleys, K S. Cole
Siphon Tubes For Furrow Irrigation In The Kimberleys, K S. Cole
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
Irrigation soils in the Ord River area have a high clay content and erode easily under the influence of running water.
To overcome the problem of erosion in cuts between the head channels and irrigation furrows polythene siphon tubes have been found the most satisfactory.
In this article K. S. Cole, B.Sc. (Agric), Agricultural Adviser, Kununurra, describes the use of siphon tubes for furrow irrigation in the Kimberleys.

Australian Spark Arrester Tests : Spark Arrester For Fordson Dexta, W. F. Baillie, G. H. Vasey
Journal of the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, Series 4
FORMAL tests on spark arresters are conducted by The Tractor Testing Committee at the Testing Station, Werribee, on behalf of those Companies concerned with tractors, engines or spark arresters who wish to have these equipments tested.
The arrester is tested on the engine for which it is especially designed or if this is not convenient, it is tested on an engine having the characteristics and power for which the spark arrester is intended.
