Journal of Electrochemistry

The array reference electrodes were developed to in situ measure the potential distributions of the welded 316 stainless steel in 12% FeCl3 solution, combined with metallographic analysis, polarization curve, EIS measurement and Kelvin volta potential imaging. It was indicated that the weld zone of metal suffered a serious preferential corrosion when immersed in the environment due to the distinct changes of structure and composition during the welding process. With time prolonging, the corrosion potential of the welding zone was negatively shifted to a maximum value, and then declined gradually. At 45 min immersion, the corrosion development from welding zone to …

Simultaneous Determination Of Dopamine(Da)And Epinephrine (Ep) At Ca/Gc Electrode, Wang Ren, Ying Zhang, Min-Jiao Li

Journal of Electrochemistry

The citric acid modified glassy carbon electrode (CA/GC) was prepared by potentiostatic technique and was used for detections of dopamine (DA), epinephrine (EP), and their mixtures by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The cathodic potential difference between DA and EP was about 380 mV, while no cathodic reduction of ascorbic acid (AA) was observed because the oxidation of AA is an irreversible reaction at the sensor. As a result, DA and EP could be determined simultaneously with the interferences of high concentrations of AA being eliminated. …

The Flip-Flop Behavior Of Acetonitrile At Au Electrode Surface Investigated By Sum Frequency Generation Vibrational Spectroscopy, Zhi Huang, Xin Tang, Gang-Hua Deng, En-Cai Zhou, Hong-Fei Wang, Yuan Guo

Journal of Electrochemistry

The electrochemical interface between liquid acetonitrile and polycrystal gold electrode is investigated by in situ infrared visible sum frequency generation spectroscopy (SFG-VS). The structure of acetonitrile adsorbed at polycrystal gold electrode surface is studied as a function of electrode potential. The SFG spectra of CH3 group indicate acetonitrile orients in response to the electrode potential. The SFG signal of CH3 group turns lower as the electrode potential changes from -700mV to 300mV, and vanishes around the 300mV(pzc), then becomes a negative signal above 500mV, which indicates that the orientation is predominately with the CH3 group toward the …
