Evaluation Of Internal Field In Ppln And Studies On Qpm Shg Efficiency Factor, Prasath Rk Mr Dec 2025

Evaluation Of Internal Field In Ppln And Studies On Qpm Shg Efficiency Factor, Prasath Rk Mr

Theses and Dissertations

Periodically Poled Lithium Niobate (PPLN) crystals have attracted interest in optoelectronics and nonlinear optics. The response to the applied electric field is determined by their larger electro-optic and nonlinear optical coefficients. An internal electric field exists in congruent PPLN crystals due to its defects. Its evaluation is important in controlling the electro-optical behavior. A simple nondestructive diffraction method is proposed to estimate the internal electric field present in the congruent lithium niobate crystal.

Due to the presence of an unrelaxed internal field, the as-poled sample acts as an index grating. When a light is incident on such a sample, it …

Extraction Of Contact Resistivity For Transition Metal Oxide-Based Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cell, Shanmugam K Mar 2025

Extraction Of Contact Resistivity For Transition Metal Oxide-Based Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cell, Shanmugam K

Theses and Dissertations

Contact resistivity quantifies the charge transport barrier, which is one of the key parameters for choosing the carrier selective contact for silicon solar cells. Optically transparent and electrically selective contacts such as Transition Metal Oxide (TMO)–based contacts are employed in solar cell applications. Therefore, extracting contact resistivity for such Schottky contacts requires apposite validation.

In this work, the contact resistivity of TiOx/LiFx/Al stack over an n-type c-Si wafer is extracted using two conventional techniques: i) Shockley’s Transfer Length Method (TLM) and ii) Cox and Strack Method (CSM). The extracted contact resistivity is validated by comparing it with the solar cell’s …

Design And Modelling Of Advanced Power Converter Control For Harmonics Suppression And Energy Management, Jayant Sharma S Feb 2025

Design And Modelling Of Advanced Power Converter Control For Harmonics Suppression And Energy Management, Jayant Sharma S

Theses and Dissertations

The quality of electrical power plays a crucial role in both industrial and domestic sectors. This issue becomes even more critical in systems that incorporate power converter-based loads, which are commonly integrated at the grid connection point. Motor drives and grid-integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging stations belong to a category of non-linear loads that inherently introduce substantial harmonic distortion into the current drawn from AC mains. This harmonic distortion adversely affects power quality, potentially leading to overheating and malfunctions in sensitive equipment across the grid. Furthermore, the widespread adoption of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology for EV charging stations has surged …

Fault Diagnosis And Fault Tolerant Structure For Multilevel Inverters Using Machine Learning Techniques, Sudha V Feb 2025

Fault Diagnosis And Fault Tolerant Structure For Multilevel Inverters Using Machine Learning Techniques, Sudha V

Theses and Dissertations

A paradigm shift towards electric drives in domestic and industrial sectors has significantly increased the use of multilevel inverters (MLI). MLIs are constructed using more semiconductor devices, which hinders safety and reliability. Literature states 31.2% of failures in MLIs are due to semiconductor devices. Hence, there is a need for fault detection and tolerant mechanisms to ensure the safety and reliability of MLIs.

MLIs like Cascaded H-bridge(CHB) and Packed U cell(PUC) are mostly preferred due to low harmonic distortion, which is considered in this work. The complexity associated with fault diagnosis with more components in MLIs is addressed by machine …

Investigations On Structure-Related Properties Of Organic Inorganic Hybrid Materials For Multifunction, Anu Ranjani E Ms

Theses and Dissertations

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid halide perovskites have become a versatile material in diverse applications like optoelectronics, lighting and display, magnetism, etc. These materials are often termed as layered hybrid halide perovskites (LHHPs) due to their unique structure with alternate organic and inorganic layers. The presence of insulating organic layers separates the inorganic perovskite slabs, creating a quantum-confined architectural configuration. This unique configuration endows these materials with a spectrum of distinctive functionalities, encompassing photovoltaics, lighting and displays, second harmonic generation, optical limiting, ferroelectricity, and ferromagnetism. The exceptional attribute is that a single LHHP can respond autonomously to external stimuli, such as changes …

Phosphorene As A Chemical Nanosensor For Volatile Organic Compound Vapours - A Dft Outlook, Saravanan S Aug 2024

Phosphorene As A Chemical Nanosensor For Volatile Organic Compound Vapours - A Dft Outlook, Saravanan S

Theses and Dissertations

Based on the density functional theory framework, the structural stability of phosphorene allotropes and its various nanostructures are ensured. The various allotropes of phosphorene and its nanostructures such as nanosheets, nanoribbon and nanotubes are used as adsorbing materials for various volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as alcohols, chloroform, amines and aldehydes. The results of adsorption energy are used to confirm physisorption or chemisorption of VOCs on phosphorene. In addition, the charge transfer outcome suggests whether phosphorene is acting as acceptor or donor of electrons upon interaction of target VOCs.

The electronic attributes such as band structure, projected density of states …
