Self-Tuning Of Pid Controller For Dc Motor Using Mrac, R.S Naga Kumar Ganugula

The main objective of this paper is to control the speed
of a separately excited DC motor using a self tuning PID
controller based on Model Reference Adaptive control (MRAC)
approach. This auto tuning controller aims to Tune the
parameters of the PID controller in response to changes in plant
and disturbance real time by referring to the reference model
that specifies the properties of the desired control system.
The simulation results show the effectiveness of the self
tuning controller both in transient and steady state responses
when compared to the fixed parameter PID controller.

In this paper, an Intelligent Hybrid Reduced Rule Base Fuzzy PID controller (IHRRFPID) is developed for the DC-DC converter. This Hybrid controller is a combination of both PID and Fuzzy logic controller in an intelligent way that depends on a function of actuating error such as ITAE (Integral Time Absolute Error). Moreover, an intelligent switching scheme is induced on the blending mechanism that makes a decision up on the priority of the two controllers, namely the classical PID and the fuzzy constituents. The simulation results shows that the hybrid fuzzy PID controller provides better response in terms of transient and …

The Z-source inverter (ZSI) is a recently proposed single-stage power conversion topology. It adds voltage boost capability for complementing the usual voltage buck operation of a traditional voltage source inverter (VSI) with improved reliability. In this paper, a single-loop and dual-loop capacitor voltage control techniques for the ZSI are digitally designed based on a third order small signal model of the ZSI, implemented using a digital signal processor (DSP) and compared. Simulation and experimental results of a 30 kW ZSI during input voltage changes, load disturbances and steady state operations are presented and compared. The results show that the dual-loop …

The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of power density [Watts/m2] into economics. By introducing an explicit spatial structure into a simple general equilibrium model we are able to show how the power density of available energy resources determines the extent of energy exploitation, the density of urban agglomerations, and the peak level of income per capita. Using a simple Malthusian model to sort population across geographic space we demonstrate how the density of available energy supplies creates density in energy demands by agglomerating economic activity. We label this result the density-creates-density hypothesis and evaluate it using …

This paper presents a dynamic model for Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) stack using Local Linear Model Tree (LOLIMOT) algorithm which is useful for both dynamic and steady-state studies. Most of conventional SOFC models require a large number of parameters and factors, which are difficult to be determined or estimated. In this paper, a LOLIMOT-based model, which does not require the parameters of fuel cell, is proposed for each operation mode of SOFC. In these models, decision tree-based feature selection approach is exploited to select inputs of the LOLIMOT. The proposed models are trained in a short time and they …

Modeling And Simulation Of Z-Source Inverter, Suresh L

Z – source inverters have been recently proposed as an alternative power conversion concept as they have both voltage buck and boost capabilities. These inverters use a unique impedance network, coupled between the power source and converter circuit, to provide both voltage buck and boost properties, which cannot be achieved with conventional voltage source and current source inverters. To facilitate understanding of Z – source inverter, this paper presents a detailed analysis, showing design of impedance network, implementation of simple Boost control PWM technique and simulation of Z – source inverter for different values of modulation indices.
