This work discusses the problem of unsupervised clustering of signals/data vectors based on their information content. A correlation based perspective to the clustering problem has been considered, thus relying on the high correlation between data vectors from the same class rather than on the position of the vectors in the data space. In the past, correlation based clustering has been formulated using a canonical correlation framework or as a matrix factorization problem and has been solved with different variants of gradient descent. The main objective of this work is to identify and characterize gate oxide defects that are present in submicron p-channel metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (pMOSFETs) and which are responsible for random telegraph signals (RTS). With the downscaling of MOSFETs, alternating capture and emission of channel carriers by defects residing at the oxide-semiconductor interface and bulk oxide have become a pronounced problem. Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) consist of a network, computation, and physical process. Embedded networks, which deliver control and sensing signal, can potentially affect CPSs performance. The emergence of renewable energy sources (RES) brought up the potential advantages of more granular controls that Microgrids offer. In this study, Tangle-based-decentralized ledger technology was implemented to the communications system of a fabricated prototype microgrid. The microgrid controls were managed by a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ minicomputer, where the energy manager, protection coordinator, and microsource controller agents are running. The focus of this document is on the design, modeling, and control of a self-balancing two wheel robot, hereafter referred to as the balance bot, driven by independent brushless DC (BLDC) motors. The balance bot frame is composed of stacked layers allowing a lightweight, modular, and rigid mechanical design. The robot is actuated by a pair of brushless DC motors equipped with Hall effect sensors and encoders allowing determination of the angle and angular velocity of each wheel. Hypervelocity impacts resulting from collisions mean that objects with a mass less than 1g can cause mission-ending damage to spacecraft. A means of shielding spacecraft against collisions is necessary. A means of testing candidate shielding methods for their efficacy in mitigating hypervelocity impacts is therefore also necessary. This work focuses on the fabrication and design of a portable electrochemical sensing system for flexible hybrid electronic (FHE) sensors. A three-electrode chemical sensor was fabricated using copper tape on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate, using laser etching process. An electronic circuit was designed to measure the sensor response through electrochemical techniques to detect different concentrations of glucose. Controlling these properties at high spatiotemporal resolution can support emerging optoelectronic coupling and enhanced optical features. For my senior project, I perform data analysis using statistical methods to determine body metrics that correlate with blood glucose levels. Working with Dr. Tina Smilkstein, I take repeat measurements from 6 different volunteers to establish trends in bodily metric data. The data taken includes weight, body fat, pulse rate, VO2, blood glucose, blood pressure, hours slept, and quality of sleep. Using these values, I use the program MiniTab to view results.

There are no commercially available modeling tools that simulate these interactions, and the development and optimization of FSLs are largely done experimentally.
