Students’ decisions to pursue education and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are shaped by an interplay of cognitive, social, and motivational factors. Spatial ability is among the most reliable predictors of STEM success, yet less is known about how it relates to students’ STEM attitudes and aspirations, and whether visuospatial working memory (VSWM) explains this relationship. Communication technologies enable NMGs to be monitored and controlled via communication networks. Open Radio Access Networks (Open RAN) provide flexible, modular multi-vendor interoperability. Growing mobile data demand requires balancing network performance with power efficiency. Mobile operators need intelligent resource management to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets while maintaining operational efficiency. This paper proposes a solution using a multi-objective deep reinforcement learning (MODRL) model deployed on the Open RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC). WiFi-based Human Activity Recognition (HAR) has emerged as a promising approach for monitoring and analysing human activities in a non-intrusive manner, leveraging WiFi signals for activity classification. Photovoltaic (PV) systems are widely adopted for renewable energy generation, but their performance is influenced by complex interactions between longer-term trends and seasonal variations. This study aims to remove these factors and provide valuable insights for optimising PV system operation. We employ comprehensive datasets of measured PV system performance over five years, focusing on identifying the distinct contributions of longer-term trends and seasonal effects. Many studies investigating the short-term variations associated with the power output from wind turbine generators utilise simulated or modelled data in the analysis. This current study uses short-term empirical data downloaded directly from operational wind turbines via electrical power quality meters. The empirical data shows that the short-term variations (one-second or sub-one-second timeframe) occur continuously over most of the power output range. A novel name is proposed, the Geeth Effect, for this variability phenomenon. This poster describes the development of an integrated Direct Current (DC) Microgrid (MG) testbed, consisting of power system and computer networking hardware, e.g. Cisco 4331 Integrated Services Routers (ISR) and 500W AC/DC power supplies, to test the Quality of Service (QoS) of MG control packets which are delivered over Layer-2 and Layer-3 networking topologies. It facilitates an examination of control packets between MG end-points, that enable real-time power load sharing, in the presence of background computer network traffic such as video streaming. The effects of difference levels of background traffic on the round trip time of control packets are demonstrated.

This study demonstrates a testbed for evaluating the effects of background network traffic on the Round-Trip Times (RTTs) of community-based integrated Direct Current (DC) Microgrid (MG) testbed using real hardware and different networking topologies.
The effects of difference levels of background traffic on the RTT of control packets are demonstrated.

A dual-port dual-sense wideband circularly- polarised (CP) printed slot antenna is proposed. The compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna is proposed for ambient energy harvesting applications. Two identical CPW feeds excite ±45° fan-shaped stubs in the elliptical slot, providing a wide bandwidth. By separating the ground plane and slot by two narrow strips, an isolation better than 19.4 dB between the ports is achieved. The measured impedance bandwidth is 850 MHz (2.08 GHz to 2.93 GHz) and the 3dB axial-ratio bandwidth is 870 MHz (2.04 GHz to 2.91 GHz).
