Robust Hardware Trojan Detection Leveraging Dual‑Domain Features And Stacked Ensemble Learning, Sefatun-Noor Puspa May 2026

Robust Hardware Trojan Detection Leveraging Dual‑Domain Features And Stacked Ensemble Learning, Sefatun-Noor Puspa

All Theses

In Cyber-physical systems rely on sensors, communication, and computing, all powered by integrated circuits (ICs). These ICs are vulnerable to malicious hardware attacks, with hardware Trojans being one of the stealthiest threats. Trojans are malicious implants in the circuitry, which are often inserted during design or fabrication stages. This stealthy addition remains dormant until triggered and might cause functional disruptions or sensitive information leakage once triggered. Traditional IC validation methods, such as functional testing and logic analysis, usually fail to capture these subtle anomalies because hardware Trojans are intentionally designed to mimic normal circuit behavior. They often remain dormant under …

An Evaluation Of Reinforcement Learning Algorithms In Video Game Development, Isaac Lockwood Jan 2025

An Evaluation Of Reinforcement Learning Algorithms In Video Game Development, Isaac Lockwood

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

Reinforcement Learning (RL) has demonstrated substantial promise for creating adaptive, responsive AI in complex environments such as video games. Yet despite growing academic interest, industry adoption remains limited due to computational overhead, reward-design challenges, and unpredictable AI behaviors. This thesis investigates how RL algorithms—specifically Advantage Actor-Critic (A2C), Deep Q-Network (DQN), and Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO)—can be applied to three different genres of video games. Those being first-person shooter (fps), fighting, and strategy.

Through a combination of scenario-based experimentation and comprehensive analysis, this work explores the feasibility and design considerations crucial for integrating RL-driven AI into commercial games. Key factors examined …

Vysion Software, Isaias Hernandez-Dominguez Jr, Chander Luderman Miller Jul 2024

Vysion Software, Isaias Hernandez-Dominguez Jr, Chander Luderman Miller

2024 Symposium

Vision loss presents significant challenges in daily life. Existing solutions for blind and visually impaired individuals are often limited in functionality, expensive, or complex to use. Vysion Software addresses this gap by developing a user-friendly, all-in-one AI companion app that provides features including text summarization, real-time audio descriptions, and AI-enhanced navigation. This project details the development plan, initial functionalities, and future vision for Vysion Software.

Hardware Trojan Detection Utilizing Graph Neural Networks And Structural Checking, Hunter Nauman May 2024

Hardware Trojan Detection Utilizing Graph Neural Networks And Structural Checking, Hunter Nauman

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

The integrated circuit (IC) industry has experienced exponential growth, particularly in the complexity and scale of hardware designs. To sustain this growth, faster development cycles and cost-effective solutions have been the focus for many companies. One strategy to maintain this growth is through the incorporation of third-party intellectual property (IP) into the IC design process. Outsourcing the production of sub-components reduces development time and enables faster time-to-market, however, this approach also introduces the threat of Hardware Trojans. Hardware Trojans, defined as any malicious modification or addition to an IC, pose significant security risks due to their small size, low activation …

Exploring Machine Learning Techniques For Embedded Hardware, Neel R. Vora Jan 2024

Exploring Machine Learning Techniques For Embedded Hardware, Neel R. Vora

Computer Science and Engineering Theses - Archive

This thesis delves into the intricate symbiosis between machine learning (ML) methodologies and embedded hardware systems, with a primary focus on augmenting efficiency and real-time processing capabilities across diverse application domains. It confronts the formidable challenge of deploying sophisticated ML algorithms on resource-constrained embedded hardware, aiming not only to optimize performance but also to minimize energy consumption. Innovative strategies are explored to tailor ML models for streamlined execution on embedded platforms, with validation conducted across various real-world application domains. Notable contributions include the development of a deep-learning framework leveraging a variational autoencoder (VAE) for compressing physiological signals from wearables while …

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research paper is to explore ChatGPT’s potential as an innovative designer tool for the future development of artificial intelligence. Specifically, this conceptual investigation aims to analyze ChatGPT’s capabilities as a tool for designing and developing near about human intelligent systems for futuristic used and developed in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Also with the helps of this paper, researchers are analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of ChatGPT as a tool, and identify possible areas for improvement in its development and implementation. This investigation focused on the various features and functions of ChatGPT that …

Imitation Learning For Swarm Control Using Variational Inference, Hafeez Olafisayo Jimoh Jan 2023

Imitation Learning For Swarm Control Using Variational Inference, Hafeez Olafisayo Jimoh

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports (ETD)

Swarms are groups of robots that can coordinate, cooperate, and communicate to achieve tasks that may be impossible for a single robot. These systems exhibit complex dynamical behavior, similar to those observed in physics, neuroscience, finance, biology, social and communication networks, etc. For instance, in Biology, schools of fish, swarm of bacteria, colony of termites exhibit flocking behavior to achieve simple and complex tasks. Modeling the dynamics of flocking in animals is challenging as we usually do not have full knowledge of the dynamics of the system and how individual agent interact. The environment of swarms is also very noisy …
