For our senior design project we decided to make an iOS application that could generate a list of nearby locations for the user to visit. We wanted the recommendation list to be unique for each user instead of a list of the most popular locations in the area. To accomplish this we developed our own recommendation algorithm from scratch. The algorithm uses a tagging system in which users and system administrators are able to add and modify the tags associated with locations. Text to Learn is a training tool made with Social Enterprises in mind that uses SMS to distribute training materials and to test users on their learning. Our goal is to give social enterprises a way to train employees and customers digitally and remotely. We will create an online dashboard, using RapidSMS and a cloud storage service, for social enterprises to upload and send training materials, manage users, and create SMS-based quizzes to assess users progress.

Compared to traditional PC Role Playing games (RPG), current mobile games do not provide the same fictional aspects and complex components. For our senior design project, we designed and built software that allows people to easily sell and share digital content with others. Our system was implemented as a website where users may upload any kind of digital content of their own creation, and specify the price for which other users can download it. A user can upload up to three gigabytes of data for free; however, if they wish to charge money for downloads, our site will take a percentage of the downloads/downloads sale price. Kosmos is an application enabling interactive visualization of a fictional 3D universe. It offers users the opportunity to explore and experience an aesthetically pleasing virtual environment complete with billions of high-resolution planets and stars. Kosmos integrates several novel 3D rendering techniques in terrain rendering, large-scale particle systems, etc. to make this level of graphical realism and scale possible. Our goal is to develop a system that reduces peak grid loads by 60%, which saves consumers and businesses money as well as protecting the environment by eliminating the use of fast start up generators. We accomplish this by implementing Arduinos --which are versatile microcontrollers-- equipped with networking technology that allows communication between houses in a neighborhood.
