September Arctic sea ice extent has diminished by roughly 50% in the 45 years since satellite observations began. The Arctic Ocean may experience ice-free summers within the next decade, with implications for habitat, resource extraction, geopolitics, and local and global climate change. This project explores the feasibility of creating a cost-effective data acquisition (DAQ) system for high-speed, real-time brake performance testing of Formula SAE racecars. The research addresses the limitations of the current MoTeC DAQ system currently employed by the team, which is costly and time-consuming to set up for on-car testing. The team will use a brake dynamometer for steady-state comparisons of different brake pad compounds (senior design project), but evaluating real-world performance requires on-car testing. Visible Light Communication (VLC) devices have been experimentally proven to work as a suitable communication medium for batteryless devices. However, the effects of practical load have yet to be fully explored. To that end, we have developed LightLink, a new MAC and PHY layer protocol for VLC within batteryless devices, and have studied various ways that computational load can affect transmission accuracy in realistic scenarios. Our key findings point us towards an adaptive VLC reception system based on inferred environmental variables.

The software supply chain encompasses all stages of software development and delivery from initial coding and version control to integration and deployment. As development environments become increasingly distributed and reliant on external dependencies, ensuring the integrity, auditability, and consistency of code changes has become a pressing challenge. Traditional version control systems like Git, while effective for collaboration and tracking revisions, do not inherently provide tamper-evident commit histories. Communication technologies enable NMGs to be monitored and controlled via communication networks. This study investigates the integration of hypnosis-based noise reduction and K-Harmonic Means (KHM) clustering for personalized brainwave modeling using Electroencephalography (EEG) data. EEG signals were collected from 100 participants using a Neurosky Mindset sensor at the FP1 (prefrontal) location, with each subject performing nine standardized cognitive tasks such as breathing, memory recall, and mathematical problem-solving. Hypnosis was applied not as a filtering method but as a behavioral protocol to standardize subject conditions and minimize physiological and environmental noise. This study addresses the challenging problem of solving inverse elliptic Partial Differential Equations (PDE) with incomplete boundary data, data available only on a part of the domain boundary. The aim is to develop a robust, effective numerical framework that consistently recovers parameters and/or sources from incomplete, ill-posed data. In the case of a variational problem discretized by the Finite Element Method (FEM) and solved by an adjoint-based optimization strategy, the framework uses Tikhonov regularization. This study suggests a complete deep learning method for univariate forecasting of future electricity loads based on climatology and electricity consumption data for the period between 2019 and 2023. NASA's Artemis program requires precise navigation capabilities to establish the first sustained presence on the lunar surface. However, as launches bring necessary orbital infrastructure, the Artemis program will face a critical period during which reliable lunar navigation is not possible. To address this challenge, the V.E.C.T.O.R. system tracks assets, such as rovers and astronauts, as User Terminals relative to a pre-existing cell tower, or Base Station. To do so, the system leverages existing Base Station hardware to calculate the location of User Terminals in conjunction with existing communications infrastructure.

Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) systems are essential for real-time power grid monitor- ing but often face data loss due to network delays, equipment malfunctions, or transmis- sion errors. Traditional centralized recovery solutions introduce significant latency and scalability challenges. This thesis presents a P4-based in-network recovery mechanism that embeds detection and recovery directly into the data plane of P4-enabled programmable switches, significantly reducing recovery time and infrastructure complexity. Using the Aurora 610 switch, the system detects missing packets via sequence number analysis and recovers magnitudes with an efficient register-based algorithm.

Predicting debtor eligibility is essential for effective risk management and minimizing lousy credit risks. However, financial institutions face challenges such as imbalanced data, inefficient feature selection, and limited user accessibility. This study combines Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) and Deep Learning (DL) to improve prediction accuracy. It integrates a chatbot interface for user-friendly testing. This study evaluates the accuracy of the Neighbor Weighted K-Nearest Neighbor (NWKNN) method in classifying the anxiety levels of final-year students as they prepare to enter the workforce, particularly in cases of unbalanced data distribution. The system was developed using the prototype method, and NWKNN was applied to classify anxiety levels into low, medium, and high categories. Testing using the Confusion Matrix demonstrated strong performance, achieving an accuracy of 94% based on a dataset of 1009 students, with a 90:10 ratio of training to test data. The Sundanese script (Aksara Sunda), an essential part of Sundanese cultural heritage, has been used since the 14th century AD. However, recognizing handwritten Sundanese characters remains challenging due to variations in individual writing styles. This study compares the performance of Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) and Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) for recognizing handwritten Sundanese vowel (Swara) characters. A dataset was collected from 15 individuals, each writing seven Sundanese vowel characters, which were then used for training and testing the recognition models. Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in urban areas face range anxiety due to the fear of running out of charge without timely access to charging points (CPs).
