Abstract: Human-robot coexisting is an essential feature of the next generation mobile robot. A compliant robot control strategy based on the extended social-force model for human-following and obstacle avoidance in coexisting-cooperative-cognitive environment is presented. The human-following controller based on impedance control can simultaneously adjust human-robot interaction force and position deviation to carry out the compliant human-following of mobile robots. This thesis presents the development and testing of Bruce, a low-cost hybrid Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) / Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) system for the optical survey of marine archaeological sites, as well as a novel sonar image augmentation strategy for semantic segmentation of shipwrecks. This approach takes side-scan sonar and bathymetry data collected using an EdgeTech 2205 AUV sensor integrated with an Harris Iver3, and generates augmented image data to be used for the semantic segmentation of shipwrecks. Band-pass filters functioning in the near-infrared (IR) range are desired for laser technology, multi-photon fluorescence, and IR imaging applications. In this study, we have designed four band-pass filters in the near Infrared spectrum (900-1200 nm) by vertically stacking different high and low-index materials. The band-pass filters are modelled by Essential Macleod software with different thicknesses. The layer’s thicknesses were optimized in such a way to provide the negligible reflectance and maximum transmission on the front side. The classic formulation of the extended boundary condition method is revisited to inject the regularization operators for the unknown coefficients of the eigen-function expansions for the travelling and standing waves throughout the dielectric scatterer. In this paper, lightweight deep learning methods are proposed to recognize multichannel electromyography (EMG) signals against varying contraction levels. The classical machine learning, and signal processing methods namely, linear discriminant analysis (LDA), quadratic discriminant analysis (QDA), root mean square (RMS), and waveform length (WL) are adopted to convolutional neural network (CNN), and long short-term memory neural network (LSTM). Improving Unet Segmentation Performance Using An Ensemble Model In Images Containing Railway Lines, Mehmet Sevi̇, İlhan Aydin

This study aims to make sense of the autonomous system and the railway environment for railway vehicles. For this purpose, by determining the railway line, information about the general condition of the line can be obtained along the way. In addition, objects such as pedestrian crossings, people, cars, and traffic signs on the line will be extracted. The rails and the rail environment in the images will be segmented with a semantic segmentation network.
