Coupling Radio Frequency Energy Via The Embedded Rebar Cage In A Reinforced Concrete Structure For The Purpose Of Concrete Degradation Sensing, Ryan Campiz
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This study focuses on utilizing an energy harvesting system in which a dedicated Radio Frequency (RF) power source transmits RF power via rebar in a reinforced concrete column. The RF power is received and decoupled by a receiver, and is then rectified, boosted, and stored as electrical energy in a supercapacitor, later to be used to make measurements, process data, and communicate to the source via rebar. Two design attempts are presented in this study: (a) one uses single line conduction at 2.4 GHz for RF power transfer; (b) the other uses a more conventional two-line conduction at 8.0 kHz …
Effect Of Lateral Stiffness On Bridge Deck Performance, Andrea Del Pilar Toro
Effect Of Lateral Stiffness On Bridge Deck Performance, Andrea Del Pilar Toro
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The use of the empirical deck design method has increased its acceptance due to the economic advantages that it presents when compared to its counterpart, the traditional method. This can be attributed to the fact that the empirical method provides an appropriate design where the deck withstands stress not only due to the steel reinforcement but to an implicit arching membrane stress set-up as an effect of the lateral restraint surrounding the deck slab known as Compressive Membrane Action (CMA).
It has been proved through research that most design codes underestimate the strength of laterally restrained slabs. However, there is …
Flexural Behavior Of Laterally Damaged Full-Scale Bridge Girders Through The Use Of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (Cfrp), Nicholas James Alteri
Flexural Behavior Of Laterally Damaged Full-Scale Bridge Girders Through The Use Of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (Cfrp), Nicholas James Alteri
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
ABSTRACT
The repair and strengthening of concrete bridge members with CFRP has become increasingly popular over recent years. However, significant research is still needed in order to develop more robust guidelines and specifications. The research project aims to assist with improving design procedures for damaged concrete members with the use of CFRP.
This document summarizes the analysis and testing of full-scale 40’ foot long prestressed concrete (PSC) bridge girders exposed to simulated impact damage and repaired with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) materials. A total of five AASHTO type II bridge girders fabricated in the 1960’s were taken from an …

A report by the Board of County Commissioners of Duval County Florida issued January 20, 1931, it includes statistics for roads: fund expenditures, maintenance costs, construction costs, maintenance cost of convicts, building costs, cost of shell and bonded indebtedness. It also includes statistics for the bridges and Toll bridge including expenditures, bonds, financial statements, bridge permits and toll permits. Arthur N. Sollee Collection - M84-1 Box 14 fold. 65b.
