After inundating large swaths of arable land, submerging a small community, and threatening to swallow a significant trade route between the Dominican Republic and Haiti; worries persisted at how far this seemingly unstoppable expansion would go. In this study, non-farm activities and their importance were studied, and it is analysed the influence of push and pull factors on the decision of family heads to engage in non-farm activities by Probit model regression. Low-gradient coastal watersheds are susceptible to flooding caused by various flows such as rainfall, tides, and storm surge. Compound flooding occurs when at least two of these mechanisms happen simultaneously or in close succession. Different inundation models, observed data, and/or a combination of these are coupled through varying techniques involving one-way, loosely, tightly, or fully coupled approaches to assess compound flooding. The fate of doxycycline (DC), a second generation tetracycline antibiotic, in the environment has drawn increasing attention in recent years due to its wide usage. Little is known about the biodegradability of DC in the environment. The objective of this study was to characterize the biotransformation of DC by pure bacterial strains with respect to reaction kinetics under different environmental conditions and biotransformation products. Two bacterial strains, Brevundimonas naejangsanensis DD1 and Sphingobacterium mizutaii DD2, were isolated from chicken litter and characterized for their biotransformation capability of DC. A model was developed to simulate the groundwater of 8,300 acres of the Northern Cities Management Area (NCMA), which encompasses the northern portion of the Arroyo Grande Watershed and a small subset of the Santa Maria Valley Groundwater Basin. This watershed and groundwater basin is located on the coast and contains Oceano and the Cities of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach. Disputes between adjacent property owners in which new development at higher elevation requirements has caused adverse effects in stormwater drainage towards lower, older developments has recently grown in concern. The difference of elevations between properties causes a faster sheet flow effect that bypasses existing drainage paths in the servitude. Carbamazepine (CBZ) is the most frequently detected pharmaceutical residues in aquatic environments effluent by wastewater treatment plants. Batch and column experiments were conducted to evaluate the removal of CBZ from ultra-pure water and wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) effluent using raw zeolitic tuff (RZT) and surfactant modified zeolite (SMZ). Point zero net charge (pHpzc), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) were investigated for adsorbents to evaluate the physiochemical changes resulted from the modification process using Hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HDTMA-Br). The Amite River Basin is a largely rural watershed spanning parts of four counties in southern Mississippi and seven parishes in southeast Louisiana, with basinwide imperviousness increasing from 0.82% in 1938 to 3.85% in 2016. The Basin has been the subject of significant research interest since catastrophic flooding in 2016 caused 13 deaths and widespread damages. Rapid development in recent decades has led to an expansion of impervious surfaces in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, encroaching on floodplains and wetlands. The article suggests a new approach to the monetary assessment of the damage caused to the environment by the processed waste of the transport sector. The proposed assessment method is based on the waste collection factor, all types of irretrievable losses and the volume of necessary compensatory release of materials. Based on a survey among vehicle owners, it was found that the solid waste collection rate is about 50 %, while the waste collection rate for operating fluids does not exceed 32 %. The article is devoted to the theoretical definition of the critical circumferential speed of the stripping drum of a kena harvester, which depends on the drum diameter, diameter and weight of the stems. It was determined from the equality of the change in the momentum of the stem during impact, i.e. from a shock impulse acting on the stem. An Innovative Seeder For Sowing Non-Loose Seeds Of Saxaul And Cherkez, E.T. Farmonov

The main reasons for the absence of a seeder for mechanized sowing of non-loose seeds of fodder plants in deserts are analyzed in the article. The author has developed a technology for sowing non-loose seeds (saxaul and cherkez), which prevents clogging, crushing and breakage in the seeder hopper, and provides for uniform and stable sowing at a set rate and shallow depth over the entire field area without reducing the biological germination.
