Fast volumetric non-destructive testing methods are needed, especially for quality control in manufacturing lines. Ultrasonic testing with full waveform evaluation is a promising method for this. However, changes in coupling conditions or environmental factors can significantly alter the ultrasound signal, sometimes more than actual defects. This study investigates the effect of various factors on the ultrasound signal based on a Monte Carlo study with wavefield simulations. The test specimens comprise aluminium plates with holes of varying sizes and positions. Solar-driven direct contact membrane distillation systems (DCMD) are disadvantaged by low freshwater productivity and low gain-output-ratio (GOR). Consequently, this study aims to achieve two primary objectives: i) improving the solar DCMD performance, and ii) harnessing machine learning models for precise and straightforward modeling of the solar DCMD system. To achieve these goals, a novel solar DCMD system powered with oil-filled heat pipe evacuated tube collectors (HP-ETCs) and equipped with an air-cooled condenser was used for the first time. Previous studies used scientometric methods to assess the current impact of CEM publications; however, there is a need to predict future citations of CEM publications to identify the expected high-impact trends in the future and guide new research efforts. Due to the critical role of asphalt pavements in national infrastructure development, there is a pressing need to investigate more sustainable materials and approaches. The use of natural aggregates and asphalt binders in asphalt pavement presents sustainability challenges due to the depletion of finite resources. Recycling Asphalt Pavement (RAP) offers a promising sustainable solution by substituting virgin aggregates and asphalt binders with recycled ones. Urbanisation remains a topical discussion across the globe. According to the United Nations (2022), 68% of the world's population will be absorbed in urban areas by 2050. The study examined human activities contributing to the depletion of the Eleyele watershed. The activities have grown over time due to urban expansion through population growth and land and space requirements, resulting in rapid land use and land cover change. The study sourced both quantitative and qualitative data. A total of 247 pre-tested questionnaires were administered to randomly selected residents in the four communities (Eleyele, Ijokodo, Awotan, and Idi Osan) abutting the Eleyele watershed. This study examines the impacts of drainage infrastructure conditions on Mowe, Ogun State, residents. The study used a quantitative research design, using a systematic random sampling technique to select ten (10) residential estates (three public-owned and seven privately owned) in the study area. In all, 107 residents were sampled using a structured questionnaire. The data collected was analysed using descriptive statistics. This study addresses the challenge of utilizing incomplete long-term discharge data when using gridded precipitation datasets and data-driven modeling in Iran's Karkheh basin. The Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network (MLPNN), a rainfall-runoff (R-R) model, was applied, leveraging precipitation data from the Asian Precipitation—Highly Resolved Observational Data Integration Toward Evaluation (APHRODITE), Global Precipitation Climatology Center (GPCC), and Climatic Research Unit (CRU). Phosphorus (P) is life’s bottleneck element and an essential nutrient for food production. However, phosphate rock is a non-renewable resource and its geological distribution is highly uneven, making P recovery a crucial step for a circular economy. Approximately 55% of mined phosphorus ends up in centralized wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), where up to 90% is captured in the sludge. This sludge, treated in anaerobic digesters to produce anaerobically digested sludge (ADS), emerges as a viable secondary source for phosphorus recovery. In this paper, a framework is outlined to generate realistic artificial data (RAD) as a tool for comparing different models developed for safety analysis. The primary focus of transportation safety analysis is on identifying and quantifying the influence of factors contributing to traffic crash occurrence and its consequences. The current framework of comparing model structures using only observed data has limitations. Geogrids have been used for decades to improve the performance in both paved and unpaved road construction. This research focuses on quantifying the performance and optimizing the design of unpaved roadways using the results from an extensive cyclic triaxial testing program. Twenty-seven cyclic triaxial tests were performed, consisting of unreinforced (control) and reinforced samples using two types of 3D geogrids: Grid1 and Grid2. This study explores the thermodynamic feasibility of selectively oxidizing iron contained in chalcopyrite mineral while preventing the oxidation of copper sulphide, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the copper concentration in the sulphide concentrate. A redox reaction in the solid phases between chalcopyrite and copper (I) oxide was constructed and subjected to thermodynamic analysis. The research identifies a crucial temperature range of 498-598 K (225-325 °C) as the most favourable for the redox reaction. The equilibrium constants at the selected optimal temperatures, 1.152 for chalcopyrite and 1.137 for copper (I) oxide, indicate that the redox reaction adheres to the expected …

Water scarcity is a problem that faces many regions. In a developing and arid countries, the need for fresh water is exponentially increasing. One of the most water consuming industries is the construction industry, especially in concrete manufacturing. Two different wastewater treatment regimens are implemented: secondary and tertiary treated wastewater.
