The preparation of this model drainage ordinance was the result of numerous meetings by a committee composed of County Commissioners, County Engineers, County Surveyors, and representatives of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and Indiana Department of Highways. The goal of this group was to formulate a drainage ordinance that could be adapted by Indiana counties to satisfy the counties' needs for reasonable drainage control, the current state of engineering practice and reasonable engineering standards. This user’s guide supports the use of VILMA (Virtually Interactive Large-scale Model for Arkansas). This document presents the basic concepts in Chapter I. Chapter II discusses the execution steps that the user follows during a VILMA session. Chapter III provides a detailed illustration of example data files. Chapter IV presents two example VILMA sessions. Finally, Chapter V elaborates on additional concepts. The Appendices consist of relevant program listings, instructions, and example files. This study was undertaken to analyze the flexural and splitting tensile strengths and the ductility of abaca fiber-reinforced concrete composites. Abaca fibers are natural fibers of vegetable origin prepared from the abaca plant which is a native plant of the Philippine Islands. The purpose of the study was to investigate how various volume-fractions of the abaca fiber in the concrete mix could affect the mechanical properties of the concrete matrix.
A concrete design mix containing a volume ratio of 1.0 part Type I Portland...cernent and 3.0 parts sand was utilized in the preparation of laboratory test samples. Abaca fibers were …
