Critical Success Factors Of Lean Construction Implementation To Improve Construction Project Efficiency In Indonesia, Onal Putra, Rossy Armyn Machfudiyanto

Journal of Project Management & Construction

Inefficiency is still a problem in the construction industry in Indonesia and in the world. Inefficiency leads to delayed deadlines, budget overruns, and inappropriate quality. It is caused by a lot of waste in the form of activities that use resources but do not produce the expected value. Lean construction is one approach to address this problem by eliminating waste and maximizing value for users or customers. This research aims to identify and determine the critical success factors that most influence the implementation of lean construction to improve the efficiency of construction projects in Indonesia as well as the development …

Development Of Work Breakdown Structure (Wbs) Dictionary And Checklist Integrated With Building Information Modelling (Bim) On Concrete Bridge’S Care And Maintenance Work To Improve Maintenance Performance, Dina Benua Lalitya, Yusuf Latief

Journal of Project Management & Construction

According to The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing of Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian PUPR), there was a significant decrease in national bridge condition in year 2021 compared to year 2018. One of the crucial factors that led to the collapse of the bridge was the lack of bridge management and maintenance to ensure the bridge’s serviceability. To cope with this condition, the solution needed is to carry out effective, efficient, and economical care and maintenance works. In bridge’s care and maintenance works, good project management can be improved with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the use of integrated …

Circular Thinking In A Technological Age: Designing For A Regenerative Future, Mohammed Ali Berawi, Perdana Miraj, Mustika Sari

CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development

Architecture, engineering, and construction sector is experiencing challenges related to environment and economic aspects. It consumes vast amounts of resources and energy and contributes heavily to global carbon emissions. Academics and industry leaders are trying to explore various strategies to combat climate change by shifting toward circularity. It is a systems-based approach that prioritizes regenerative design, responsible consumption, and closed-loop resource use. At the heart of this shift lies the interplay between circularity, technology, and the environment that can reshape how we live, produce, and consume. But this transformation is not simply about adopting greener practices; it’s about rethinking the …

Ultimate Limit State Reliability-Based Approach Life Prediction Of An Existing Frame Structure Under Seismic Hazard In Indonesia, Wira Herucakra, Luh Putri Adnyani

Journal of Materials Exploration and Findings

Life assessment integrated with Structural Integrity Management (SIM) has been implemented in the oil and gas industry for the past decade to maintain the integrity and safety of an in-service structure used to support hydrocarbon exploration, production, and processing activity. Current structural life assessment, as ruled by the American Petroleum Institute (API), uses a fatigue-based approach for offshore structures subjected to wave loading. As the general principle of SIM is not limited to offshore structures, this study offers an alternative life assessment method for onshore structures, especially steel frame structures subjected to earthquake loads. Reliability analysis, combined with the effect …

Road Safety Assessment For Accident And Non-Accident Cases Supporting Sustainable Development Goals 2030, Brian Nararya Nugraha, Sekar Warangi Nurcahyati, Hizkia Adhikaratma, Martha Leni Siregar

Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development

Halving the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents is one target of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, which is still a challenging problem in Indonesia. However, the majority of research on this topic uses accident-based methods, which limits the safety analysis. Two road safety assessment methods are used to close the gap, with the addition of non-accident-based methods such as Road Safety Audits (RSA). The Margonda Raya Road, which is categorised as a traffic accident blackspot, was selected for the case study. For this, a field survey of the road segment is carried out. To minimise …

Citizen And Technology: The Core In Developing Human-Centric Smart Cities, Mohammed Ali Berawi, Mustika Sari, Perdana Miraj

CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development

As urbanization continues to grow, the development of smart cities has become a pivotal strategy for addressing the complex challenges of modern urban living. These cities harness advanced technologies like the artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Digital Twin to optimize city operations, improve sustainability, and enhance the quality of life for their residents. However, the success of smart cities should not be measured by the sheer quantity of hardware and software implemented but rather by the quality of life they create for the people who live and work within them. In other words, smart cities must prioritize …

CSID Journal of Infrastructure Development

The absence of adequate parking facilities in residential and public areas remains a significant issue in developing countries, often disrupting economic activities and environmental quality. In Keffi town, the increasing demand for parking exceeds the available supply, leading to congestion and inefficiency. This study evaluates the current public parking facilities, focusing on provision levels, infrastructure conditions, and management frameworks. Primary data were gathered using structured questionnaires and direct observations, with 328 valid responses analyzed through descriptive statistics. Results indicate that prolonged vehicle stays exacerbate congestion, such as at Nasarawa State University (32.8%) and Federal Medical Centre (29.1%). Parallel parking dominates …

Modeling Soil Lateral Deformation Due To Water Film Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics, Erly Bahsan, Budi Susilo Soepandji, Wiwik Rahayu, R.R. Dwinanti R. Marthanty, Budianto Ontowirjo

Makara Journal of Technology

In geotechnical engineering, large deformation in soil materials is rarely simulated using numerical methods, particularly the finite element method and finite difference method, because they experience difficulties in representing the postfailure soil behavior. As an alternative to these methods, the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method has recently been adopted to represent soil behavior. The SPH method is a Lagrangian, mesh-free numerical method in which the materials are modeled as a set of particles. In this method, soil behavior can be represented via the Drucker–Prager elasto–plastic failure criterion. Thus, this method can be used to simulate postfailure soil behavior and large …

Analysis Of The Relationship Between Speed Consistency And Traffic Accident Probability (On The Mojokerto-Surabaya Toll Road), Riki Risfiandi, Martha Leni Siregar

Smart City

Vehicle speed consistency plays a crucial role in maintaining traffic safety, with speed limits set to reduce accident fatalities. While the direct impact of speed limits on vehicle speed is minimal, their implementation significantly influences driver behavior, with about 85% of drivers complying with speed limits. However, variables such as traffic volume, weather conditions, and travel urgency often cause drivers to be inconsistent in adhering to these limits, increasing accident risk. On the Mojokerto-Surabaya toll road, data from Traffic Corps and Jasa Marga recorded 193 accidents with 101 fatalities from 2018 to August 2023, mostly caused by driver behavior such …
