Bipolar electrochemistry (BPE) is a technique that provides a wireless alternative totraditional electrochemistry to elicit redox reactions. It has been utilized in different applications, including studying localized corrosion, gradient electrodeposition, propulsion of micromotors, and water treatment. The popularity of the method is not solely dependent on its wirelessness but more due to the simultaneous presence of cathodic and anodic poles on the same surface, which also begets its name as bipolar. Recent advancements in construction technology have led to high-strength concrete and steel. However, these developments have depreciated the accuracy of the design equations in current provisions, which were based on normal-grade materials. To fill such a research gap, this study presents a novel deep learning-based computation scheme that can replace the current design provisions by virtue of its superior accuracy and reliability. Approximate Policy Iteration (API) is a Class of Reinforcement Learning (RL) Algorithms that Seek to Solve the Long-Run Discounted Reward Markov Decision Process (MDP), Via the Policy Iteration Paradigm, Without Learning the Transition Model in the Underlying Bellman Equation. A large number of combinations of Irish wall types, insulation materials, and heating fuel types were produced to compare the multiple variables which influence Optimal Insulation Thickness values. The total cost (TC) and carbon emission (CE) at optimum insulation thickness (OIT) for all combinations of insulation material and three types of fuel are considered. The dataset presents OIT for solid wall, cavity wall and cavity block wall types located in Monaghan, Dublin, and Kerry.

A theoretical study of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) beams subjected to biaxial bending moments is presented with a focus on the influence of higher-order effects on maximum normal stresses. It is shown that the biaxial bending type of loading causes a dramatic increase in the maximum normal stress for a GFRP beam when induced torsional effects are included. The study demonstrates that the traditional first-order theory can grossly underestimate the maximum normal stress in a GFRP beam. Roof systems utilizing Z-purlins as a secondary member supporting a standing seam panel system are used extensively by the metal building industry. The Z-purlins rely on the diaphragm action in the standing seam panel system to provide lateral support and transfer forces to anchorages. On October 29, 2012, Superstorm Sandy impacted 443,000 people and caused nearly $19 billion (about $58 per person in the US) worth of damage within New York City. As part of the New York City infrastructure reparation plan, the Living Breakwaters project in Tottenville addressed coastal resilience, allocating $100M of public funds to a series of artificial breakwaters by the southwest coast of Staten Island. Each breakwater is constructed and designed to mitigate water flow in storm events. In an experiment investigating the photo catalytic degradation of methylene blue using varied concentrations of Er2O3 nanoparticles, different conditions were tested including with and without sunshine, as well as in the absence of a UV source. The presence of a UV source was also considered in the research. UV-Visible spectroscopy was utilized to characterize the catalysts. The degradation of methylene blue dye was monitored by spectrophotometry by tracking dye absorbance at regular time intervals and adjusting the dye concentration. In response to the waste of phosphogypsum resources and engineering characteristics of red clay, by referring to the mix ratio design method of fly ash mixtures, 18 sets of mix ratio samples were set up indoors. By conducting compaction tests, seven-day unconfined compression strength tests, water-stability tests, and CBR tests, exploratory research was conducted on the road performance of high content phosphogypsum stabilized red clay. The results indicate that the optimal water content of high content phosphogypsum stabilized red clay is lower than that of plain red clay. Electrospray systems are an effective methodology for generating highly charged monodispersed droplets in the size range from nanometer to micrometer. The most common distresses in asphalt pavement are cracking and rutting. These distresses plague almost every asphalt roadway in the world. Finding ways to mitigate these distresses will improve the performance of asphalt pavements.
