Solution Combustion Synthesis Of Cobalt Oxide For Use As A Catalyst Precursor In The Hydrolysis Of Sodium Borohydride, Teandra Leigh Pfeil

Solution combustion synthesized (SCS) cobalt oxide (Co3O4) powder has been studied as a catalyst precursor for the hydrolysis of sodium borohydride (NaBH4). Synthesis is completed in less than two minutes and results indicate SCS is capable of reproducibly synthesizing 98.5-99.5% pure Co3O4 nano-foam materials. SCS materials demonstrate an as-synthesized specific surface area of 24 m2/g, a crystallite size of 15.5 nm, and fine surface structures on the order of 4 nm. However, its usage as an electricity source in Spain is not well developed due to many causes, among which highlights the lack of knowledge about the available technical potential. While the effect of interfacial morphology on the short circuit current (ISC) of organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs) is well known, its impact on open circuit voltage (VOC) and fill-factor (FF) are less clear. Since the output power of a solar cell Pout = ISCVOCFF, such understanding is critical for designing high-performance, morphology-engineered OPVs. The Runt-related transcription factor, Runx2, is essential for osteogenesis and is controlled by both distal (P1) and proximal (P2) promoters. To understand Runx2 function requires determination of the spatiotemporal activity of P1 and P2 to Runx2 protein production. We generated a mouse model in which the P1-derived transcript was replaced with a lacZ reporter allele, resulting in loss of P1-derived protein while simultaneously allowing discrimination between the activities of the two promoters. Loss of P1-driven expression causes developmental defects with cleidocranial dysplasia-like syndromes that persist in the postnatal skeleton. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) will soon start to be introduced into the transportation sector, thereby raising a host of issues related to their use, adoption and effects on the electricity sector. Their introduction has the potential to significantly reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector, which has led to government policies aimed at easing their introduction.
