Design And Implementation Of Cyber Risk Management In The Indonesian Aviation Sector Based On Nist Csf And Iso/Iec 27002:2022, Annisa Aulia Budianti Qurota'aini, Ira Rosianal Hikmah, Yulial Hikmah

Jurnal Vokasi Indonesia

As technology usage increases, cyberspace in Indonesia has developed significantly, including in Vital Information Infrastructure (VII) sectors such as aviation. However, this advancement introduces potential cyber threats that can disrupt operations. This research aims to design a systematic cyber risk management framework for a navigation authority within the Indonesian aviation sector using the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF) as the primary standard. This research also utilizes national aviation regulations, Center for Internet Security Controls (CIS Controls) v8.0, and ISO/IEC 27002:2022 as supporting frameworks. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, gathering data through field observations, …

Railroad Condition Monitoring Using Distributed Acoustic Sensing And Deep Learning Techniques, Md Arifur Rahman Jan 2024

Railroad Condition Monitoring Using Distributed Acoustic Sensing And Deep Learning Techniques, Md Arifur Rahman

College of Graduate Studies: Theses & Dissertations

Proper condition monitoring has been a major issue among railroad administrations since it might cause catastrophic dilemmas that lead to fatalities or damage to the infrastructure. Although various aspects of train safety have been conducted by scholars, in-motion monitoring detection of defect occurrence, cause, and severity is still a big concern. Hence extensive studies are still required to enhance the accuracy of inspection methods for railroad condition monitoring (CM). Distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) has been recognized as a promising method because of its sensing capabilities over long distances and for massive structures. As DAS produces large datasets, algorithms for precise …

Shifting Satellite Control Paradigms: Operational Cybersecurity In The Age Of Megaconstellations, Carl A. Poole, Robert A. Bettinger, Mark Reith Oct 2021

Shifting Satellite Control Paradigms: Operational Cybersecurity In The Age Of Megaconstellations, Carl A. Poole, Robert A. Bettinger, Mark Reith

Faculty Publications

The introduction of automated satellite control systems into a space-mission environment historically dominated by human-in-the-loop operations will require a more focused understanding of cybersecurity measures to ensure space system safety and security. On the ground-segment side of satellite control, the debut of privately owned communication antennas for rent and a move to cloud-based operations or mission centers will bring new requirements for cyber protection for both Department of Defense and commercial satellite operations alike. It is no longer a matter of whether automation will be introduced to satellite operations, but how quickly satellite operators can adapt to the onset of …

Automatic Testing In The United States Air Force, Pearson Wade May 2018

Automatic Testing In The United States Air Force, Pearson Wade

Computer Science and Computer Engineering Undergraduate Honors Theses

The need for standardized Automatic Testing Equipment in the United States Department of Defense has brought about new policies and procedures within entities like the United States Air Force. The diversity and lifespan of systems such as jets, missiles, drones, and other electronics have brought on the need for a new system known as the Versatile Depot Automatic Test Station, or VDATS. The VDATS handles the automatic testing of replaceable digital circuits from different systems. I was introduced to this system firsthand during my time as an intern at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. This new standardized approach to testing a diverse …

The Shipboard Office' : The Role Of It And Multi-Media Systems In Managing Engineering Operations And Maintenance Onboard Ship, Okechukwu Ebere Sylvanus Obara Dec 2001

The Shipboard Office' : The Role Of It And Multi-Media Systems In Managing Engineering Operations And Maintenance Onboard Ship, Okechukwu Ebere Sylvanus Obara

World Maritime University Dissertations

This dissertation is an investigation of the roles of information technology and multimedia systems in the management of engineering operations and maintenance onboard ships. It considers the implications and constraints of adopting these technology tools on the economies of ship owners or managements companies, Maritime Administrations, and the Maritime Education and Training Institutions, especially in the developing countries. The study reviews the various shipboard maintenance policies and management techniques currently being practised in the traditional shipboard office with a view of understanding its constraints and the needs of adopting the various technological tools and systems. It also examines critically, the …
