Guides to Manuscript Collections
This collection is composed “Cavalry Drill Regulations, United States Army” in 1911, and pilot’s log book. The log book was owned by Howard E. Emmons and contains approximately twenty pages of materials spanning from July to December of 1918, beginning in the U.S. School of Military Aeronautics at the Ohio State University and including flight activities at Carruthers Field in Fort Worth, Texas. The regulations book was owned by -Delos?- -C.?- Emmons. Also included in the collection is a 1919 letter from the Air Service Flying School certifying that Howard Emmons has 253 hours and 20 minutes of flying time …

Passenger growth has led to expansion of facilities at both the Omaha and Lincoln airports; but like many others in the nation, they are rapidly becoming congested. The Federal Aviation Administration, the State Government officials, and many civic leaders in Nebraska are now becoming aware of the need for establishing a regional airport for the Eastern Nebraska region in order to promote and handle international air transportation for the future. Weed Control In Cereals : Aerial Spraying Trials, G R W Meadly

SPRAYING cereal crops for weed control is now standard farming practice in Western Australia. Almost 500,000 acres of cereal crops, mainly wheat, are sprayed each year, and approximately three-quarters of this area is treated by aircraft.
Recent trials have shown that aerial application of 'extra low" volumes of hormone-like herbicides, with oil or water solvents, does not damage cereals if spraying is done at the right stage of growth.
