Duplex stainless steel’s durability, formability, and resistance to corrosion make it the primary steel option of the pulp and paper industry. The harsh environments found in certain aspects of this industry, such as in bleach plants, digesters, liquor vessels, and any piping where corrosive liquids may be passed, require the previously mentioned properties that duplex stainless steel 2205 offer. Wear resistance is an invaluable performance metric for most metallic components found in mechanical systems. Our research focused on AR400, a steel alloy known for its wear resistance capabilities, in an effort to determine what factors might be attributed to its performance in wear applications. After establishing the processing techniques and resulting material structures that give AR400 such an edge in extreme wear conditions, our goal is to determine indicators of wear resistance that can be used to distinguish excellent wear resistant alloys from average or subpar performers against wear.

Inconel 690 (Alloy 690) is a high-chromium nickel super alloy. This alloy is used in many ways, mostly in a setting where corrosion is a concern. The alloy is very resistant to corrosion in an aqueous media as well as a high temperature atmosphere. This report will identify the structure and properties of Inconel 690 to determine the reliability and durability in an extreme setting.

The material to be explored for the purpose of this project relates to the Aluminum alloys used in the majority of modern engine “heads” and a number of engine “blocks”. The Aluminum used for these engine applications vary slightly across different manufacturers in their processing, structure and ultimate properties, despite their nearly identical performance applications. In 1870 the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (M.K.T.) Railroad was incorporated in Junction City, Kansas. The railroad connected several military forts in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. In 1870, the town of Parsons, Kansas was founded for the purpose of being a hub where the lines to Junction City, Kansas and Sedalia, Missouri met. The original M.K.T. This study has developed a rural substation feeder model and conducted an iterative photovoltaics (PV) hosting capacity analysis for various load conditions. Multiple hosting capacity constraints have been considered, and their impacts have been evaluated. In addition, PV capacity improvement techniques are discussed. The study’s outcome demonstrates the application of dynamic inverter control settings to mitigate capacity restrictions.

Thin Safety Margin charts the history of SEFOR, a twenty-megawatt reactor that operated for three years in the rural Ozark Mountains of Arkansas as part of an internationally sponsored program designed to demonstrate the Doppler effect in plutonium-oxide-fueled fast reactors. Authors Jerry Havens and Collis Geren draw upon this history to assess the accidental explosion risk inherent in using fast reactors to reduce the energy industry’s carbon dioxide emissions.

This report represents aerospace mechanics and controls for CubeSats, quadcopters and aircraft. A CubeSAT is a small satellite on the order of 10 centimeters along each axis. A 1U satellite is a small cube with 10 cm sides. These satellites are used for a variety of missions and created by a variety of different organizations. This study has assessed the impacts of Level 1, Level 2, and DC fast charging of electric vehicles (EVs) on distribution feeder by varying the EV penetration level. Both graphical and real-time simulations have been conducted to evaluate the vehicle-charging effect on the distribution system. The outcome of the study demonstrates voltage deviation and distortion on the distribution grid.
