The detection of aflatoxins is essential for the food industry to ensure the safety and quality of food products before their release to the market. The lateral-flow immunochromatography assay (LFIA) is a simple technique that allows the rapid on-site detection of aflatoxins. The purpose of this review is to evaluate and compare the limits of detection reported in the most recent research articles, published between the years of 2015 and 2023. By altering the thermal equilibria between internal and ambient environments, dynamic insulation can minimize heating and cooling building energy requirements. The performance of a thermally-insulated roller blind was evaluated both experimentally and via simulation studies. The variation of blind position was optimized to minimize building energy consumption, maintain thermal comfort, and minimize daylight discomfort for a particular system, location and conditions. The roller blind was adjusted between four positions, from fully-open to fully-closed, optimal indoor temperature switching thresholds found for moving to these blind positions were 15 °C, 18.4 °C, 19.4 °C and 21.4 °C, respectively. Abstract: Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) activities are prevalent on the Dark Web to evade detection, posing a global challenge for law enforcement. Our objective is to analyze CSAM discussions in this concealed space using a Support Vector Machine model, achieving an accuracy of 87.6%. Across eight forums, approximately 28.4% of posts contained CSAM, with victim ages most commonly reported as 12, 14, 13, and 11 years old for YouTube, Skype, Instagram, and Facebook, respectively. The aggregated fuel cost of domestic hot water (DHW) generation in Ireland, in 2022, was €529M with associated emissions/load of 1.3MtCO₂/289GWh. The shadow price of carbon monetises the negative impact of emissions, rising with time; DHW generation has an associated shadow carbon cost of €13M in 2022, rising to €42M in 2030 and €335M in 2050.

Adaptive facades are cyber-physical systems where controlled interventions seek to enhance passive responses to changes in ambient or indoor physical conditions. For buildings in climates that vary seasonally, reducing the energy consumed to maintain occupant comfort can be aided by the presence of an adaptive façade.
