This Paper Summarizes the Vast Body of Literature (Over 200 Documents) Related to Vitrification of the Low-Activity Waste (LAW) Fraction of the Hanford Tank Wastes. Details Are Provided on the Origins of the Hanford Tank Wastes that Resulted from Nuclear Operations Conducted between 1944 and 1989 to Support Nuclear Weapons Production. Mixed-dimensional nanomaterials composed of one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, such as graphene-silver nanowire (AgNW) composite sandwiched structures, are promising candidates as building blocks for multifunctional structures and materials. However, their mechanical behavior and failure mechanism have not yet been fully understood. In this work, we have performed integrated experimental, theoretical, and numerical studies to explore the performance and failure modes of graphene-AgNW composite under tensile and impact loading conditions. Limestone (calcite) calcined clay cement (LC3) is a promising low-CO2 binder, but the low activity of calcite cannot compensate the reduction in clinker factor, resulting in low one-day strength and limiting its broad applications. As recent carbon capture and utilization technologies allow scalable production of vaterite, a more reactive CaCO3 polymorph, we overcome the challenge by introducing vaterite calcined clay cement (VC3), inspired by the vaterite-calcite phase change. In the present study, VC3 exhibits higher compressive strengths and faster hydration than LC3. Concrete bridges are vulnerable to both natural and man-made disasters, as well as aging and deterioration processes throughout their lifespan. Timely detection of defects in concrete structures is crucial for repair and decision-making purposes. However, traditional methods like visual inspection are time-consuming and expensive. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with infrared thermography (IRT) offer an efficient and cost-effective solution for detecting defects in concrete structures. This study presents passive and active IRT techniques for detecting common concrete defects, such as delamination and cracks. Work zones are crucial for infrastructure maintenance and improvement. However, ongoing projects within work zones sometimes can place workers and drivers in dangerous situations. Despite safety regulations, work zone accidents persist with notable severity and frequency. Previous research has explored work zone accident causation, but it has not provided a comprehensive understanding of the factors that impact work zone safety. Surfactants have been widely used to alter the wettability of carbonate rocks from oil-wetness to water-wetness and enhanced oil recovery. One of primary methods implemented in filed applications for enhanced oil recovery is surfactant huff-puff. Currently, a large number of surfactant treatments are conducted in laboratories prior to field applications to optimize the design of surfactant huff-puff, test the performance of surfactants, and minimize failure risk. This paper presents an improved theoretical damped single-axle vehicle-bridge dynamic interaction model to consider the effect of the contact patch size and motor-induced vehicle excitation. The contact patch issue is critical as it determines the minimum time step for simulation and maximum identifiable frequency, while the inclusion of the motor-induced vehicle excitation benefits the design of autonomous self-driven rather than towed vehicles. Digital fabrication of concrete structures has gained substantial research traction over the last decade, enabling efficient material use and adding more architectural freedom. Current research focuses on chemical and mineral admixtures, as well as manipulating the cement hydration reaction to control the yield stress evolution with time in the cement paste. Serverless computing has revolutionized online service development and deployment with ease-to-use operations, auto-scaling, fine-grained resource allocation, and pay-as-you-go pricing. However, a gap remains in configuring serverless functions - the actual resource consumption may vary due to function types, dependencies, and input data sizes, thus mismatching the static resource configuration by users. Dynamic resource consumption against static configuration may lead to either poor function execution performance or low utilization. This paper proposes Freyr+, a novel resource manager (RM) that dynamically harvests idle resources from over-provisioned functions to accelerate under-provisioned functions for serverless platforms. The adoption of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) has sparked considerable interest across diverse industries, including public transportation, underground mining, and agriculture sectors. However, CAVs' reliance on sensor readings makes them vulnerable to significant threats. Manipulating these readings can compromise CAV network security, posing serious risks for malicious activities. Although several anomaly detection (AD) approaches for CAV networks are proposed, they often fail to: i) detect multiple anomalies in specific sensor(s) with high accuracy or F1 score, and ii) identify the specific sensor being attacked. The utilization of supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) subjected to carbonation processing represents a viable strategy to mitigate anthropogenic CO2 emissions associated with concrete production, potentially contributing to the achievement of carbon neutrality. However, existing studies have limitations in effectively predicting the varying carbonation capacities of different SCMs, a gap that this research aims to address. Recent research efforts focused on the carbonation of waste-material-sourced SCMs are reviewed, along with a comparative discussion on diverse carbonation methods. Knowledge of the soil water content (SWC) is important for many aspects of agriculture and must be monitored to maximize crop yield, efficiently use limited supplies of irrigation water, and ensure optimal nutrient management with minimal environmental impact. Single-location sensors are often used to monitor SWC, but a limited number of point measurements is insufficient to measure SWC across most fields since SWC is typically very heterogeneous.
