"In prospecting for copper by means of churn drills it is absolutely essential that accurate methods of sampling be employed if any dependence is to be put upon the results. Of equal importance is the recording and preservation of data regarding each hole after results are obtained. This applies to such information as location and elevation of holes, depth, water level, geology etc as well as to the assays of the samples. Future underground development will be guided by information obtained from the drill holes and any incompleteness in the records will cause uncertainty in the development of the mine. …

"The power plant tested for this Thesis is located at Lebanon, Missouri, on the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, and belongs to the City of Lebanon. The plant consists of two Brownell horizontal tubular boilers with a shell six feet by 18 feet, and each containing 70 four-inch tubes. The investigation of the energy loss in condensers is one which electricians and experimenters have long carried on. Their efforts have been restricted chiefly to alternating currents. Many methods have been proposed and used with varying success. The losses in condensers are due to dielectric hysteresis and leakage. That the dielectric of a condenser becomes heated when an alternating current is applied to terminals has long been known. "The Sudbury nickel field, situated in the Province of Ontario, Canada, near the northern shore of Lake Huron, was practically discovered when building the Canadian Pacific Railway. The method of deposit is unusual in that it is not a vein filling but a true igneous deposition. The magma carried besides rock making constituents three principle sulphides, viz. - those of iron as pyrrhotite; of copper as chalcopyrite; and of nickel as pentlandite.
