Mining Environmental Conference

FORWARD: Environmental problems in our complex industrial society have, in the past decade, assumed immense proportions. A population growth which will double the number of persons in the United States and in the total world in the next thirty years makes it imperative that greater care and consideration be given to the effects of industrialization on all our lives.

All industry is fair game for the advocate that suggest that there should be no change in what nature has given us. If these persons were to be followed, there would be no industrialization, no improvement in living conditions, working hours, …

Test 1006: Case 1470 Traction King (Diesel), Nebraska Tractor Test Lab Apr 1969

Test 1006: Case 1470 Traction King (Diesel), Nebraska Tractor Test Lab

Nebraska Tractor Tests

EXPLANATION OF TEST REPORT GENERAL CONDITIONS East tractor is a production model equipped for common usage. Power consuming accessories can be disconnected only when it is convenient for the operator to do so in practice. Additional weight can be added as ballast if the manufacturer regularly supplies it for sale. The static tire loads and the inflation pressures muse conform to recommendations in the Tire Standards published by the Society of Automotive Engineers. PREPARATION FOR PERFORMANCE RUNS The engine crank case is drained and refilled with a measured amount of new oil conforming to specifications in the operator’s manual. The …

A Digital Dynamic Data Compensation Technique, George Lee Schulz Apr 1969

A Digital Dynamic Data Compensation Technique, George Lee Schulz

Mechanical Engineering ETDs

The output of seismic transducers is proportional to the input only for inputs in specific frequency range. This paper presents a method for extending the usable frequency range of seismic transducers through the use of a digital data processing technique. The method is based on the assumptions that a seismic transducer may be represented by a damped single degree of freedom system and that the output of the transducer is proportional to the relative displacement between the seismic mass and the surface on which the transducer is mounted. The computational technique utilizes a new, efficient, and accurate method of numerical …

Reflection And Transmission Of Dipole Radiation In Presence Of An Extended Boundary, Rough And Smooth, Byong Ki Park Apr 1969

Reflection And Transmission Of Dipole Radiation In Presence Of An Extended Boundary, Rough And Smooth, Byong Ki Park

Electrical and Computer Engineering ETDs

Several different forms of integral solutions exist to the problem of dipole radiation in presence of a half space with plane boundary, all of which can be easily shown to agree with one another by transformation. For the evaluation of these integrals, a number of assumptions are usually made on some parameters in the expressions such as the medium property, the wavelength and so on. Unfortunately, however, even with these simplifying (but meaningful) assumptions, practically useful results for the dipole radiation problem are still lacking. Also it appears that there is no theory of dipole radiation when the plane boundary …
