It is shown that when a jump-like differential current is applied to the input of the transducer, its transient response consists of the sum of one steady-state and two free harmonic components with a frequency equal to double the modulation current frequency, the free components of which decay with rates depending on the time constants, respectively, the measuring and modulation magnetic circuit, and when a pulsating differential current with a frequency is applied to the input of the converter, the transient response consists of the sum of one harmonic steady-state component with a frequency equal to the modulation current frequency …

In the article the transients occurring in current transformers are investigated and the values of secondary transient currents are determined using the operator's method with the help of a mathematical model of a wide-range current transformer using various primary sources. Using the obtained results, the regularities of secondary currents change over time are analyzed. The account of a real technical condition of the equipment of the locomotive at planning of volumes of its repair is one of the major reserves of reduction of working costs of railways and decrease in the cost price of transportations. This article uses the analysis of malfunctions of the load-carrying apparatus of freight car structures used in Uzbekistan. The reasons for the occurrence of malfunctions in the load car structures are studied. It seems that in order to determine the technical condition of the device, it is possible to increase the reliability of the stored device by making the correct conclusion from the fault signs derived from the design parameters using information received from the controlled stands.

The article discusses the issues of improving the coupon system for monitoring compliance with labor safety by establishing the level of labor protection at work and ranking the violations committed by departments and the enterprise as a whole. A modernized structure of the labor protection management system has been developed and a coupon control system has been proposed, integrated with three-level monitoring of the conditions and labor protection, which takes into account the magnitude of the coefficient of labor protection.

For inducing form memory effects of FMEs, at least one deformation of the alloy is required. Traditionally, it is carried out at room temperature or in liquid nitrogen. The influence of the initial phase composition on different schemes of FME and OEPF guidance has been studied. The evolution of reversible and complete reversible deformation, depending on the induced deformation, has an extreme character, while the position of the maximum depends on the structural state: for an equiatomic alloy Ti-50.0 at.% Ni - range εt = 1215%; for Ti-50.7 at.% Ni.

Researches are carried out on the built-up curly details. The aim of the study is to restore worn surfaces of parts by surfacing of powder composite materials. Inves-tigations are carried out to determine the composition, structure, hardness and wear resistance of the deposited layers. In this scientific work, modern optical sensors based on the use of modern electronic electromagnetic relay counters used on railways, stages and stations in the Republic of Uzbekistan are investigated and presented. The electromagnetic relay device ESSO increases the transmission of false messages under the influence of magnetic induc-tion. This leads to a decrease in the level of reliability. The study showed that the recommended axle counting sensors have high sensitivity when passing wheels on sensors on hauls and stations, which can increase reliability and reduce operating costs for train movements, trunk and station roads.

This report presents the latest improvements in a recently developed nondestructive testing (NDT) technique for early detection of various flaws such as corrosion, delamination, and concrete cracking in reinforced concrete (RC) bridge decks. Kentucky crash data for the 2015-2016 period reveal that per capita crash rates and increases in crash-related fatalities in the state outpaced the national average. To explain why the U.S. Southeast sees higher crash rates than other regions of the country, previous research has argued the region’s unique socioeconomic conditions provide a compelling explanation. Taking this observation as a starting point, this study uses an extensive crash dataset from Kentucky to examine the relationship between highway safety and socioeconomic and demographic characteristics. A concern raised by some motorists in relation to the presence of bicycles on urban roads without bicycle lanes, discussed in part of the traffic literature, is that cyclists will slow down motorized vehicles and therefore create congestion. Improved bicycle infrastructure has become increasingly common in the United States as cities seek to attract new riders, including the demographic who do not feel comfortable riding with motor vehicle traffic. A key tool in designing low-stress networks is the use of separated or protected bicycle lanes, and intersections are the critical links. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has used a full-depth reclamation (FDR) process over the past few years to rehabilitate asphalt pavements exhibiting widespread base failures. FDR transforms existing hot-mix asphalt (HMA) pavement and underlying granular materials into a stabilized base layer. The stabilized layer is then overlaid with a new pavement surface layer. In 2016, commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) were involved in 4,079 fatal crashes in the U.S., representing 11.8 percent of all fatal crashes. State of Kentucky crash data for 2015-2016 show that per capita crash rates and increases in crash-related fatalities exceeded the national average. Crossover crashes occur when a vehicle leaves its intended path and veers into the path of oncoming traffic, typically resulting in head-on or sideswipe opposite direction crashes. Since Kentucky’s initial rumble strip designs were adopted, there has been additional research and experimentation in other states with alternative designs as a response to complaints from the public about noise pollution caused by rumble strips. The new research indicates that other rumble strip designs might provide increased interior noise/vibration with decreased exterior noise. Application of these alternative designs in Kentucky could result in improved rumble performance, reduced damage to new pavement, decreased noise pollution, installation on roadways with lower speed limits, and allow reinstallation of rumbles on thin overlays/microsurfacing.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is tasked with managing an asset portfolio that includes over 27,500 miles of roadway and 9,000 bridges. Practitioners use Crash Modification Factors/Functions (CMFs) to calculate the number of crashes expected once a countermeasure has been implemented. When evaluating design alternatives, CMFs can be used in conjunction with safety performance functions (SPFs) to derive crash predictions. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) maintains the CMF Clearinghouse as a repository for CMFs. Contributions are submitted by researchers across the U.S., Canada, and throughout the world. Typically, multiple CMFs are associated with a single countermeasure. Some CMFs only apply to specific facility or crash types. This research examines the accessibility to multi-use paths in a variety of neighborhoods in Fresno, California. This study aims to develop a multi-objective optimization modeling framework to be used by decision makers in transportation and policy to maximize the total accessibility to multi-use paths across the city while minimizing the gap between low- and high- accessibility neighborhoods by an optimal allocation of active transportation. This research empirically investigated the differential effect of message framing on message recipients’ attitudes and intended behaviors related to pedestrian, cyclist, and motorist traffic safety practices. Authors of this research developed a traffic simulation model for the downtown San Jose network and evaluated five different street redesign and travel demand combinations. This model aids understanding of network-wide effects of changes in street design for local and regional agencies who are interested in implementing complete streets and/or one-way to two-way conversion. The base network may be altered to model and evaluate other complete streets (e.g., road diet) and tactical urbanism (e.g., farmer’s market on city streets on certain days of the week) scenarios.
