Addressing the current lack of post-evaluation management systems related to highways,particularly highway maintenance,this paper proposed a post-evaluation method for the decision-making and implementation of highway maintenance projects based on the combination of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL ).After building a post-evaluation model for the decision-making and implementation of highway maintenance projects and designing the evaluation process,this paper calculated key factors influencing the post-evaluation of the decision-making and implementation of highway maintenance projects and their respective comprehensive weights.The research results indicate that decision-making can possess higher accuracy and efficiency under the above calculation method,providing a …

The main target of this study is to investigate the behavior and performance of long composite circular stainless steel columns filled with light-weight concrete. An experimental study was carried out on four specimens, two of them are long composite circular stainless steel columns with length 1400 mm, diameter 100 mm and thickness of stainless steel tube 2 mm filled with light-weight and normal concrete with strengths 12 and 26 mpa respectively, which denoted by C1400/12 and C1400/26. The aviation sector received an underperforming D+ score, indicating its deteriorating qualities in comparison with the overall US infrastructure. In response, US governmental bodies issued investment bills that target the improvement of the nation's airport system. Airport projects are still being implemented through design-bid-build (DBB), which is notorious for its ineffective risk shift, low contractor input, and poor cost and schedule performance. This project aimed to provide needed safety and locational signage for pedestrians, bikers, and vehicles, clearly outlining maps, safety tips, and emergency contacts. Supply chain instabilities and inflated material prices have had a disruptive impact on cost estimating of construction projects. While several research efforts used national macroeconomic indicators to forecast the prices of domestically produced construction materials, none of the existing studies investigated whether the lagged macroeconomic indicators of the main trading partners could enhance the predictability of the prices of cement, steel, and lumber in the US construction sector. Titanium has the potential to increase the compressive strength of concrete. This experiment investigates the impact of titanium admixture on concrete compressive strength, using three different forms of titanium: shavings, flakes, and powder. This experiment goes further, evaluating the effects of varying proportions of titanium admixture, ranging from 1% - 5% by the weight of cement, resulting in 15 different concrete test cylinders and one additional cylinder as the control variable with no titanium admixture. The primary aim is to develop a comprehensive framework that synergizes 5th Dimension Building Information Modeling (5D BIM) with VE processes to identify and evaluate the most cost-effective construction alternatives. Employing a mixed-methods approach, this research includes an extensive review of existing practices, an integrated BIM-VE framework proposal, and the application of 5D BIM principles to improve visualization, cost estimation, and scheduling. Construction projects are prone to accidents and injuries, necessitating a focus on implementing safety programs. However, the implementation of such programs is influenced by various factors. Developing countries often have poor safety performance in their building sectors, with limited research in this area. This study aimed to identify essential safety program activities (SPAs) specific to the building sector. Through a literature review and survey, 25 SPAs were identified and validated via a pilot survey involving building sector experts. This study investigates United States construction professionals’ view of trust in the workplace. In particular the focus is on building trust through trust building exercises. In order to accomplish this, a literature review was conducted focusing on trust in the worldwide construction industry. Embankments have been widely used in the construction of transportation and flood defense infrastructure. Embankments constructed from clays experience a suite of weather-driven deterioration processes that lead to a progressive loss of hydromechanical performance, causing potentially severe and costly consequences. This study aimed to predict the time to failure of aging, deteriorating clay embankments supporting transportation infrastructure. A multi-phase numerical modeling approach was developed to replicate the long-term, weather-driven, hydromechanical behavior of clay embankments. In order to study the influence of short-term aging temperature on the properties of sealant,a sealant was prepared,and field construction conditions were simulated.The properties of the sealant before and after short-term aging at 180‒220 ℃ were tested.The viscoelastic properties,physicochemical properties,and microstructures of the sealant were studied,and the mechanism of property changes was discussed.The results show that the cone penetration and flow value of the aged sealant decrease,while the softening point and elastic recovery rate increase.Aging at high temperature (>180 ℃) for a short time and low temperature (160 ℃) for a long time will cause obvious property changes.The tensile …
