The moment is right for critical reflection on what has been assumed to be a core part of schooling. In UNgrading, fifteen educators write about their diverse experiences going gradeless. Some contributors are new to the practice and some have been engaging in it for decades. Some are in humanities and social sciences, some in STEM fields. Some are in higher education, but some are the K–12 pioneers who led the way. Based on rigorous and replicated research, this is the first book to show why and how faculty who wish to focus on learning, rather than sorting or …

As we all work to make our classrooms more inclusive and accessible, we can benefit from observing and discussing approaches others have taken. Please join us for a discussion of one approach to centering DEI efforts in a STEM field and stay for a mini-conference that has emerged from this work.

Disparities in the wages paid and the roles assigned to different genders have been well documented and publicized. These differentials, however, have resulted in continued and increased criticism of gender-based societal constructs.
This presentation and discussion will focus on gender roles in sport and how these influences manifest themselves in the classroom. in a time when we should continually challenge ourselves to create more inclusive classroom environments, this fundamental construct is oftentimes ignored, leading to a continuous cycle of inequality.

Dr. Williamson's presentation will be followed by guided inquiry and discussion and is intended to generate practical ideas for teaching and professional development. .
