The study aims at measuring the effectiveness of experiential learning model for improving the multicultural competence of non-Javanese students in the Malang City. The true-experiment type quantitative study is conducted by using the pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were 20 non-Javanese students in several universities in Malang City that had low multicultural competence. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was implemented in order to compare the score of the students before and after the treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Roda Pelangi game to improve elementary school students’ fairness character. The research method was an experiment with a nonequivalent control group design type. The research instruments were: interview guidelines; observation guidelines; and Fairness Character Measurement Scale. The sample were twelve fourth grade students of Permata Ummat Trenggalek Integrated Islamic Elementary School that was chosen through purposive sampling. The significance score obtained based on data analysis using independent sample t-test was 0.047<0.05. The result showed Roda Pelangi game can improve elementary school students’ fairness character. Based on these results, it recommended: school counselor can use Roda Pelangi game in the guidance and counseling service process, especially to improve elementary school students’ fairness character; further researchers can use Roda Pelangi game to examine other variables and at other school levels using other research designs such as true experiment or guidance and counseling action research.

The aim of this study is to determine the effectiveness of group counseling with cognitive behavior therapy approach using passive music therapy technique to reduce the academic anxiety of students who is writing thesis. The research used quasi-experimental design (pretest, posttest, and follow-up). Group counseling was conducted for five meetings, and follow-up was performed two weeks after the treatment. This research and development aims to produce a cybercounseling reality website and a reality cybercounseling guidebook to improve self-disclosure for Vocational High School students which are grateful theoretically and practically. The research and development study steps are: preliminary study, product development, and product test. Product’s guidelines are tested using one group pretest-posttest design. Product test results show that cybercounseling reality website is gratefully theoretically and practically and also effectively to improve Vocational High School students’ self-disclosure.

This study is intended to identify the correlation between perception on tutoring services and Junior High School students’ autonomy. This study was a correlational and expose facto study. The population of this study is the entire students of Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 10 Yogyakarta amount to 506 students. Then, this study took 253 students as research sample which is determined by using proportional stratified random sampling. The purpose of this study was to evaluate school counselor performance in organizing individual counseling services using self evaluation and peer evaluation. This study uses descriptive survey approach through descriptive comparative study. Subjects are school counselors in Special Region of Yogyakarta, especially Bantul District. Data analysis used Mann-Whitney U test. Based on result obtained by Mann-Whitney U significance value between self evaluation with peer evaluation is 0,657 (> 0,05). This means that there is no significant difference in counselor performance evaluation based on self evaluation and peer evaluation instruments.

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of cognitive defusion technique to increase students’ self confidence. This study used a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test post-test design. Subject in this study were six vocational high school student which have low self-confidence. The instrument used is self-confidence scale. To analyze the subjects’ self confidence after receiving cognitive defusion technique, we use the wilcoxon sign test. The results confirm that students' confidence level score were increase after being treat using cognitive defusion technique. It can be concluded that cognitive defusion technique are effective for improving students' self-confidence.

This research aims at examining the effectiveness of transtheoretical model to reduce compulsive internet use of Senior High School students. This research employed single subject design approach. The subject of this research is four students of X graders at St. Joseph Senior High School Malang which obtained high compulsive internet use score. This research utilized transtheoretical model counseling guidebook, compulsive internet use scale, observation and interview guidebook. The results of significant visual and score margin between pre-test and post-test indicate that transtheoretical model is effective to reduce compulsive internet use among Senior High School students.

The purpose of this study is to identify whether there are differences between male student aggression behavior and female students aggresive behavior in Yogyakarta. This comparative study involved 160 students from Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta as a sample. Simple Random Sampling technique were used to choose sample. The instrument used is the scale of aggression behavior. Independent Samples Test were used to analysis the data. The research findings show that there is no significant difference between male student aggression behavior and female students aggresive behavior. This study recommends counseling service to reduce and overcome student aggression behavior.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of cognitive behavior therapy counseling group in reducing vocational high school student’s doubts in making career decision. The research design uses pretest-posttest control group design. There are two types of instruments used, that is treatment materials and measuring instruments. The treatment instrument consisted of a manual cognitive behavior group counseling guide for the counselor, while the measuring instrument consist a scale of career decision making that had validity R values above 0.320 and reliability of 0.855 and student’s self-reflection sheets. This is an experimental study which describes the effectiveness of group counseling treatment in increasing student’s confidence. The subject of this study is IX grade students of Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 1 Paciran, Lamongan, East Java. The subject which can be said as sample of the study were collected using purposive sampling. They were divided into two groups namely experiment group and control group. Both group was given different treatment and the result of those treatments were examined using Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The result shows that group counseling treatment can improve student’s confidence.

Academic procrastination is one of problems that may occur among junior high school students. This study aims to describe the level of academic procrastination of junior high school students in Sekolah Menengah Pertama Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta. This research uses descriptive quantitative research. The results of this study showed that 17,2% of subjects have high academic procrastination, 77,1% of them have the moderate one, and 5,7% of them have the low one. Based on those results, it is recommended for the next researcher to use Solution-Focused Brief Counseling in reducing academic procrastination in SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta.
