We conducted a qualitative review of the research literature on STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) related to high school students with disabilities (SWD). We selected and analyzed 53 articles to answer two questions: (1) How are high-school SWD prepared for careers in STEM? (2) How are educators prepared to support high-school SWD for opportunities in STEM? In answering the first question, four qualitative themes emerged: (a) barriers to STEM, (b) increasing STEM opportunities, (c) STEM readiness in college and career, and (d) STEM identity. Instructional reform in STEM aims for the widespread adoption of evidence based instructional practices (EBIPS), practices that implement active learning. Research recognizes that faculty social networks regarding discussion or advice about teaching may matter to such efforts. But teaching is not the only priority for university faculty – meeting research expectations is at least as important and, often, more consequential for tenure and promotion decisions. This study analyzed the relationship between community college students’ math remediation status and their continued persistence in math. Continued persistence outcomes included college math course completion, seeking a STEM degree pathway, degree attainment (STEM or any degree), and degree completion time (STEM or any degree). Demographic variables and math-placement- level were investigated as predictors. The study used secondary data from students enrolled in math courses at a large Pacific Northwest college between Fall 2016 and Fall 2019. Since then, several departments have made significant strides in the implementation of OER. We offer three case studies of putting OER into practice, in math, astronomy, and chemistry. Algorithm run-time complexity analysis is an important topic in data structures and algorithms courses, but it is also a topic that many students struggle with. Commonly cited difficulties include the necessary mathematical background knowledge, the abstract nature of the topic, and the presentation style of the material. Analyzing the subject of algorithm analysis using multiple learning theories shows that course materials often leave out key steps in the learning process and neglect certain learning styles. Students can be more successful at learning algorithm run-time complexity analysis if these missing stages and learning styles are addressed.

Background: Change strategies may leverage interpersonal relationships and conversations to spread teaching innovations among science faculty. Knowledge sharing refers to the process by which individuals transfer information and thereby spread innovative ideas within an organization. We use knowledge sharing as a lens for identifying factors that encourage productive teaching-related conversations between individuals, characterizing the context and content of these discussions, and understanding how peer interactions may shape instructional practices. In this study, we interview 19 science faculty using innovative teaching practices about the teaching-focused conversations they have with different discussion partners.

The study employed classroom action research of fourth-semester students at Tridinanti University. This study aims at investigating Indonesian pre-service English teachers’ Foreign Language Teaching Anxiety (FLTA) in teaching English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) classes and to explore the factors of FLTA. The participants were six pre-service English teachers. The study employed a qualitative design and used observations and interviews as the methods of data collection. The study found that pre- service teachers experienced anxiety when opening the class, when students asked questions, and when they had mispronunciation or forgot certain vocabulary. Microlearning has evolved in facilitating learners in short learning activities as viewed through history. This paper aims to review the application of microlearning historically. This narrative study uses deconstruction techniques with a historical research approach consisting of (1) heuristics, (2) verification, (3) interpretation, and (4) historiography. The study found that microlearning is a development of the concepts of microteaching and microcontent. This paper can be used as a reference in the development of microlearning as research and learning in the future.
