Salah satu kemampuan yang sangat penting untuk pembelajaran di era modern adalah pemikiran kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana model pembelajaran berbasis tantangan berdampak pada keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan hasil belajar mereka tentang materi bencana alam di kelas V SD. Eksperimen semu (Quasi Exprimental Design) digunakan dengan tipe pre-test dan post-test Grup Kontrol NonEquivalen. Penelitian ini melibatkan 44 siswa kelas V SD dari dua kelas yang sama. The development of High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) for fifth-grade elementary students is a crucial step toward improving education quality. These questions go beyond testing memory by fostering critical, analytical, and creative thinking skills aligned with modern educational demands. Employing the 3D model (Define, Design, Develop) the study systematically develops HOTS based questions tailored to learning objectives and student needs. The process integrates cognitive levels C4-C6 of Bloom's taxonomy, emphasizing analysis, evaluation, and creation to enhance higher-order thinking. According to Miles and Huberman, this research uses a descriptive qualitative method with three steps of data analysis: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between students' learning styles and how they solve geometry math problems. Initial observations in class IV SDN Pulorejo III showed that students' literacy skills were low, especially in understanding story problems, obstacles in solving geometry problems such as memorizing formulas, and ignorance of students' learning styles. Significant equity gaps in introductory STEM courses create barriers in the STEM pathway. The current study investigated the impact of equitable access to course resources in the form of different e-textbooks in an introductory chemistry course. The purpose of the study was to determine if the use of a free textbook and/or the use of an interactive textbook enhances students’ academic performance, especially among students from marginalized backgrounds. We analyzed equity data for 199 general chemistry students. In this poster I present an innovative lightboard-glassboard design concept and prototype. The device, when not in use as a lightboard, is positioned against a wall in a low-profile configuration and used as an illuminable office glassboard. For video production, the device – supported and guided by a robust anti-tip rail system – is safely rolled away from the wall and used as a lightboard. In this manuscript, we explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and equitable learning in higher education, focusing on data science as a subset of AI and social justice as the core theme of equity. Our investigation sheds light on the nuanced tensions inherent in employing data science for social justice. Rooted in situated perspectives of learning and consequential learning, our study employs an instrumental case-study methodology and analysis techniques from interaction and conversation analysis. Teachers’ beliefs about mathematics can shape how they approach teaching, learning, and assessment in mathematics classrooms. This study examined Australian pre-service teachers’ (PSTs’) epistemological beliefs about mathematics. A total of 18 PSTs enrolled in Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching (secondary mathematics) programs participated in the study by answering prompt questions in an open-ended questionnaire. The participants’ responses were content analyzed by categorizing the views evident in the responses into four pre-defined mathematical orientations: formalism-related, scheme-related, process-related, and application-related. Findings have shown that the dominant beliefs for the participants reflected process- or application- related orientations to mathematics. These findings …

This convergent mixed-methods study investigated Missouri preschool teachers’ familiarity, implementation, and perceptions of conceptual movement (CM), the purposeful integration of bodily actions to support young children’s understanding of abstract academic concepts, particularly in early mathematics instruction. Grounded in embodied cognition and informed by enactivism and the theory of event coding (TEC), the study explored: (a) preschool teachers’ awareness and frequency of CM use; (b) how teacher characteristics such as experience, age group taught, and math anxiety relate to CM implementation; and (c) teachers’ perceptions of CM’s instructional value, implementation challenges, and professional development needs.

Misconceptions in elementary science education can significantly hinder students' ability to construct accurate and lasting conceptual understandings. Grounded in the constructivist learning theory, this quasi-experimental study investigates how inquiry-based instruction influences the identification and correction of third-grade students’ misconceptions in science, specifically in the domains of energy, force, and matter. Using a pre- and post-test design, along with data derived from daily teacher field notes, the research was conducted with a sample of fifteen third-grade students at a public elementary school in Mississippi. This research examines the impact of ALEKS on student achievement in mathematics, specifically the correlation between mastering course concepts and preparedness for Algebra 1 as assessed by MAP RIT scores. The investigation focuses on the problem that many students lack the foundational skills necessary for success in Algebra 1 and higher-level math courses, leading to the research questions: "How does student completion in the ALEKS intervention course impact their performance on MAP?" and "How much more likely are students who completed the intervention course to be considered Algebra 1-ready based on MAP than those who did not?"

It is essential for understanding complex biological phenomena and analyzing large datasets in both academic and professional settings. This study evaluates the impact (effectiveness and outcome) of project-based vocational learning program in Electrical Power Installation programs (TITL) at vocational schools in Tangerang, Indonesia. Using the Goal Free Evaluation model and a mixed-methods approach, quantitatively, the study found that 93,93% of the program ran well. It identified 33 positive impacts that matched the program's goals, 2 negative impacts, and 6 unexpected positive outcomes for students such as curiosity, confidence, safety awareness, entrepreneurship, responsibility, and honesty. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of Digital Geo Fun Thinkers learning media on student understanding of the material on the utilization of natural resources and their problems. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analysis-Design-Development-Implementation-Evaluation) which was carried out at Almaarif Singosari Islamic High School with the subject of 27 students in class XI IPS 1. Elementary science education is essential for fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving, yet it is often reduced or deprioritized due to the pressures of high-stakes testing in reading and mathematics. Despite federal calls for a well-rounded education under the Every Student Succeeds Act (2015), instructional time for science remains limited in many schools, particularly in under-resourced and high-poverty contexts. This reduction of science instruction time exacerbates achievement gaps and limits student engagement and interest in STEM fields.

This dissertation examined the impact of a multimodal, station-based instructional approach on student engagement and multiplication fact fluency among third-grade students at Hopeful Elementary School (HES), a Title I, high-poverty school. Traditional methods of rote memorization have not consistently met the needs of all learners, particularly those from under-resourced backgrounds or with disabilities. This study explored how structured opportunities to practice multiplication through music-based, game-based, and technology-enhanced learning experiences influenced student engagement and fluency.

Students with disabilities (SWD) at Large High School in Rural School District have consistently underperformed in Algebra 1 as compared to their non-disabled peers and SWD across South Carolina. This performance gap contributes to the school’s designation as an Additional Targeted Support and Improvement (ATSI) site, putting it at risk for state intervention. This dissertation investigates whether implementing a co-teaching model in Algebra 1 can positively impact SWD students’ self-efficacy in mathematics, with a secondary focus on potential gains in academic performance in Algebra 1 on the state End of Course (EOC).

General chemistry is a foundational course for advancement in most undergraduate STEM programs, but unfortunately, many students do not continue in STEM after their experiences in their general chemistry course. Culturally relevant pedagogy (CRP) has the potential to increase students’ positive experiences in general chemistry by centering their needs, identities, and backgrounds. The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed the dynamics of reading comprehension instruction, particularly in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning. This study aims to explore the perspectives of EFL pre-service teachers regarding the teaching and learning of reading comprehension in digital-based learning environments.
