This paper reports on the Quick Images app, whose design framework is informed by research on ten-structured thinking and gamification principles. Inclusivity was also a major consideration, especially in the context of a developing country. Thus, the app was made freely available and required only moderate system requirements. Pilot studies revealed that the app has the potential to promote children’s ability to see two-digit numbers in relation to tens and ones, which is a major goal of elementary school mathematics. Collaborations with the Philippine Department of Education to ensure the app’s sustained use are also discussed.

The purpose of this descriptive, exploratory, dual case study was to understand the ways two successful novice middle school mathematics teachers serving as first-year collaborating teachers (CTs) for preservice teachers (PSTs) from the same “Grow Your Own” (GYO) educator preparation program (EPP) where they received their initial preparation conceptualized and enacted their CT roles. The university traditionally has been the foundation for young adults’ professional development, yet the proclivity toward safety culture has garnered less focus in higher education than in the workforce. A survey of faculty at a medium-sized, research-active, private institution revealed specific areas of policy noncompliance as well as specific safety attitudes that can be targeted for interventions. Albeit a snapshot view, the survey implies that safety needs better representation in the classroom, teaching laboratories, and research facilities at universities. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a population of 40 students in grade 7 in SMPN 1 Rumpin, Bogor district. The research design used was a one-group pre-test and post-test.
