The two main purposes of this study were to document the events leading to the establishment of the nondiscriminatory employment policy for certificated personnel from ethnic minority groups in the Stockton Unified School District and the subsequent practices which have developed since the adoption of the policy in 1947.

The purpose of this study was to compare: (1) how a professional organization’s members voted in relation to the organization’s recommendations; (2) how the professional group voted in comparison to the public in general; (3) deviations within the professional group on the basis of age and sex from the stated policy of the professional organization in order to determine if any segment of the membership failed to follow the leadership, and if not, where and why they did not.

The purposes of this study are threefold: 1. To study recorded individual complaints directed at a Class A public school system during the period of one full year. 2. To identify the source of these misunderstandings and possibly the reasons for their occurrence. 3. Programs were well received. They were held in the RISD Auditorium but a smaller venue, perhaps the RISD Museum of Art is being considered. The Picture Lending Library, where pictures are rented out is doing well. $71.25 was raised. Because of war shortages only 2 exhibitions were shown at the Army camps.

In this Community Art Project report the effective administration of a grant received by the Carnegie Corp. was discussed. The purpose of the grant was to develop Art interests within the community of Providence and Rhode Island and to strengthen the Art Department at Brown University. Many speakers and programs concerning art, architecture and music took place. There were some concerts at the RISD Museum of Art and Sayles Hall that were well attended.

The purpose of this thesis is to point out how discipline is still a big problem for the inexperienced teacher, and that as a moral issue it is also a perplexing problem confronting the experienced teacher. In the first chapter it shows that a good understanding of psychology is necessary to approach the problem of discipline and that the teacher must have the qualities necessary to make her a leader and an inspiration to those in her charge.
