The purpose of the grant was to develop Art interests within the community of Providence and Rhode Island and to strengthen the Art Department at Brown University. Many speakers and programs concerning art, architecture and music took place. There were some concerts at the RISD Museum of Art and Sayles Hall that were well attended.
