Nautical students are required to have communicative competence in English that will be beneficial for their future careers. However, the teaching and learning implemented remain insufficient in terms of sources, learning topics, and learning materials. German textbooks encompass various facets of German culture. However, teachers in Indonesia often overlook the significance of German culture. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive account of the German cultural components found within German language textbooks used in Indonesian universities. To achieve this goal, a descriptive qualitative methodology was employed, where the textbooks were analyzed according to Byram's theory of eight cultural dimensions. This study analyzes how Shaila Abdullah's Saffron Dreams portrays and resists Orientalists' stereotypes of Muslim women. Through Saffron Dreams, Abdullah attempts to put up a fight against the negative stereotypes of Orientalists toward Muslim women. It is shown based on how the main protagonist is portrayed as a Muslim Pakistani-American woman who lost her husband in 9/11, experiencing mistreatment from her host land society due to the spreading negative stereotypes of Muslim women. This study aims to identify the language proficiency level of primary English language teachers’ (PELTs) productive skills (speaking and writing) analyzed using the Common European Framework of References (CEFR) and Kurikulum Merdeka. As a foreign language in Indonesia, English language proficiency among PELTs is crucial to determine the success of the learning process in a classroom. This study aimed to analyze the linguistic features that allegedly contained elements of blasphemy in Jenderal Dudung Abdurrachman's (JDA) speech. The analysis was carried out using a forensic linguistic perspective. This research data is in the form of JDA utterances delivered in a broadcast conducted with Deddy Corbuzier (DC). Based on a forensic linguistic analysis of the text of JDA's conversation with DC on Deddy Corbuzier's podcast, it can be concluded that JDA's linguistic evidence does not support blasphemy but a lack of knowledge in religion, especially in matters of faith. This paper critically examines how contemporary Singaporean writers use language in verse, that is poetry, to make vivid representations of Singapore as a nation and discursively construct the social notion of the country's national identity. Utilizing Wodak's (2001) Discourse-Historical framework, this paper reveals how the two authors use some common discursive strategies, mainly representational and predicational, in making explicit representations of Singapore and creating a strong sense of national identity. This study investigates the speaking anxiety levels of EFL students enrolled in English medium classes (EMI) in a private university. Factors causing students’ speaking anxiety and potential strategies to reduce the speaking anxiety were also examined. Eighty-nine EMI students from ten undergraduate study programs were the respondents of this study. Data were collected by using Horwitz et al.’s (1986) anxiety survey. Findings showed that EMI students exhibited low-level English-speaking anxiety. The cross-tabulation data demonstrated that students perceived comprehension apprehension as the paramount anxiety factor. This study aims to trace the early history of the Bimanese to identify the weaving and its 10 motifs defined in the Bima Land Customary Law as part of the Bima ethnic characteristics. The study used a qualitative approach with data triangulation (observations, interviews, and documentation). The research result showed that the activity of spinning yarn was known by the Bimanese before the expedition of Sang Bima to the land of the rising sun (Satonda Island, a volcanic area on Sumbawa Island), which became the ancestors of the Bimanese.
