The subjunctive mood in german language (Konjunktiv II) is a complex grammatical phenomenon. The problem at that phenomenon has become more interesting in the translation field. This study investigated the commenters’ reading positions in an online news article’s comment column. The first theory that coined the reading position is Stuart Hall. Based on Hall's theory, there are three reading positions for the readers in interpreting a text. First is the dominant or hegemonic reading position that means the readers who fully share the text, receive, and then reproduce it. This study aimed to describe the quality of translations results by Google Translate and Microsoft Translator in translating classical Arabic texts based on the translation of the book Matn Al-Ghāyah wat Taqrib by Faiz El Muttaqin by looking at three aspects in the target language; accuracy, acceptability, and readability. The data of this study were analyzed using comparative qualitative research methods. The results showed that Google Translate got a better score than Microsoft Translator. Short stories constitute parts of the Intermediate Reading course materials. This study aims at finding the students’ views towards (1) the themes, novelty, level of difficulty, and length of the stories; (2) the reading and questioning tasks; (3) the discussion mechanism, and (4) the potentials of the short stories and the discussion mechanism to improve their reading strategies. This study is a survey with a questionnaire and 25 repondents. This article discusses the 'Self-portrait' in modern Korean poetry Jahwasang (hangul: 자화상) by Yoon Dongju using the Riffaterre’s semiotic theory. Semiotic theory assumes that literature is a semiotic fact of humanity. Semiotic means that literature is a collection of meaningful sign systems. The purpose of this study is to find the meaning of 'self portrait' written on Jahwasang. The research method of this study is a qualitative method. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that poem "self portrait" is about Yoon Dongju’s reflection and introspection of the past.

This paper discusses Indoesian Lombok poem as a form of resistance toward Tuan Guru (master teacher) hegemony in Lombok. In 2000s, Tuan Guru achieved hegemonic position in Lombok. This paper uses the Gramsci hegemony theory because literary work is assumed to have hegemonic power. This research aimed at describing the application of Lesson Study to increase lecturer’s teacing performance in teaching Nahwu. The researchers used classroom action research in two cycles. The subjects of this research were the students taking Nahwu course with low competence. The result showed that the lecturer model was successful to enhance his patience which he did not recognise before to solve his teaching performance of “difficult” course, i.e. discussing the problem with his colleagues. The observer of this Lesson Study scored 95% for the success of applying Lesson Study, and 98% for the positive change of each step done.

This study aims at analyzing the translation of English passive sentences into Indonesian language, in terms of the meanings and equivalence which appear in the translation. The method used to analyze the data is a descriptive quantitative. The sample of this research is taken from five chapters of the novel Hunger Games: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. The result shows that the translation of passive sentences comes into several types of meanings: lexical meaning 37%, grammatical meaning 2%, textual meaning 5%, and contextual meaning 46%. Epiphany is a crucial event encountered by an individual which gives him/her an insight in his/her journey of meaning making to life. This qualitative research aims at finding out epiphany of RII represented in her anthology of short stories, novelets, novels. The research has found out that RII, as a diffable figure, is mentally capable of creating extraordinary works which are: (a) useful for others, (b) inspiring, (c) affecting surrounding people to be stronger, and (d) mostly true-story based. As a writer, RII's epiphany covers three main issues, i.e. (i) humanity epiphany, (ii) femininity epiphany, and (iii) diffability epiphany.

The objective of this research is to describe the morphological and phonological varying system of Gorontalo language, and its problem in organizing them in custom terms dictionary.
