This study explores how gamification strategies are integrated into Malaysian contemporary children's books and how these elements support young readers' motivation to participate in reading. Driven by the significant decline of children's reading motivation in Malaysia and the increasing dominance of screen- based content, this study applied qualitative content analysis to evaluate ten children's books, five paper books and five electronic books published between 2020 and 2025. The 2017 National English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools in China position “Big Ideas” as a central organizing principle for thematic unit design. The absence of Big-Ideas oriented instruction is often linked to fragmented learning, rote memorization, weak knowledge transfer, and limited higher-order thinking, which collectively hinder the attainment of national core competency goals. This study aims to investigate the use of and attitude towards Cantonese among Chinese Malaysians in Kuala Lumpur. Understanding the use of Cantonese and attitude is essential in evaluating and maintaining the vitality of Cantonese and to design strategies to revitalise the language. However, very few studies have investigated Cantonese in Malaysia. The methodology used was questionnaire and semi-structured interview. Findings show that roughly one-third of the participants used Cantonese regularly at home. This study aims to explore the similarities and differences in the use of verb phrase-based (VP-based) bundles in the writing of L2 Malaysian Engineering learners via the Malaysian Polytechnic Electronic Engineering Learner Corpus (MyPolyEELC) in comparison to their native counterparts in the British Academic Written English (BAWE) sub-corpus and experts in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Research Articles Corpus (3ERAC). The aim of this study was to investigate undergraduate students’ perceived classroom motivation and perceived engagement in learning English course. It also examined the extent to which student engagement plays a mediating role in the relationship between classroom motivation and academic achievement. Using the Basic Needs Satisfaction at College Scale (Jenkins-Guarnieri et al., 2015) and Student Course Engagement Questionnaire (Handelsman et al., 2005), cross sectional surveys were conducted to collect data on classroom motivation and student engagement, respectively. Kajian ini bertujuan membangunkan Modul Pedagogi Komunikasi Nonverbal al-Quran (MPKNVQ) berasaskan model ADDIE yang telah diubahsuai. Objektif kajian ialah untuk (i) mengenal pasti komunikasi non-verbal al-Quran untuk pengajaran dan pembelajaran Bahasa Arab, (ii) Mengenal pasti reka bentuk MPKNVQ yang dibangunkan untuk pengajaran BA, (iii) membangunkan MPKNVQ (iv) menilai keberkesanan MPKNVQ dari aspek sikap, motivasi dan pencapaian pelajar terhadap pengajaran dan pembelajaran BA. This study reports on the effectiveness of using drama activity in ESL classroom to improve students’ speaking skills and motivation. This study addresses two major questions. The first evaluates the impact of drama activity on students’ intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The second question analyses the impact of drama activity on the development of students’ speaking skills.
