The purpose of this study is to reveal what technological skills are inquired about by superintendents/directors of schools in the state of Tennessee when hiring high school principals. The study further reveals perceptions that superintendents/directors of schools have for the desirability of high school principals to possess technological skills and their perceptions of how capable current high school principals are for possessing those skills. The study was based on a total population of 139 school superintendents in the state of Tennessee. Surveys were mailed in early Nov, 1995. One hundred-two surveys were completed and returned. Prereading activities are important in enabling students to comprehend and enjoy the books they read. Teachers are always in need of good prereading activities, and the increasing popularity of computers offers opportunities to fill this need, however, technology is not keeping up with educators' needs in this area. While there is an overwhelming quantity of commercially produced computer software programs, they are invariably generic in nature. This case study describes some tips and lessons learned from a project at St. Cloud State University designed to teach information literacy over the World Wide Web. The information literacy project has two primary components:

1. Under the auspices of LEO: Literacy Education Online (a project to disseminate resources to improve composition and writing skills), to develop content resources providing guidance in library and internet use and application in research;
2. Under the Center for Information Media, to disseminate self-paced instructional modules on library and internet use and application in research that could be used in credit-generating courses.

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of light/sound technology to promote sensory integration which facilitates the learning capacity of children with autism by reducing their high state of arousal, increasing time on task and decreasing acting-out behaviors. This research extended the work of A. Jean Ayres and Lorna King who theorized that the autistic individual's brain does not register, modulate or integrate sensations that most people notice; auditory and visual inputs are ignored more than other types of sensory stimuli. Hyperreport: A Multimedia Management Tool For Report Of Information Writing, Stephanie D'Antignac Reeves

This project, entitled HyperReport, is a computer based program that helps students by guiding them through the HC development process. With it, students learn to create a storyboard, design a project map, and create a hypercompositon stack using HyperStudio. They learn to organize their media and use an established sequence for incorporating graphic, sound, text, and animation elements to their stacks.

In this thesis, a survey design was used following closely the objective of descriptive research. The purpose of this case study was to examine the degree to which those managing change for a distance learning initiative followed David Nadler's (1989) four action steps designed to reduce resistance in making the transition from the former operational state to a newly-created state.;The four action steps include providing opportunities for participation among employees, allowing employees to identify current operations that will not work in the new organizational state, rewarding behavior that assists in the transition, and allowing sufficient time for the change to take place.
