Starting in 2025, California public high schools will be required to offer Ethnic Studies courses. While this mandate may not affect your school, the waves of this movement are likely to impact course content at all grade levels and in all schools in coming years. How can we as library workers support the needs that will come with these exciting changes? Actually, you don't want to wait until you are faced with a book challenge. Be proactive. What steps should you take to be prepared? Can you head off the situation before it actually becomes a challenge? Is your reconsideration policy up to date? Does it align with your school board policy?
