It is the purpose of this study (1) to compare physical achievement scores of seventh, eighth, and ninth grade boys; (2) to compare physical achievement scores of the athletes and non-athletes in the eighth and ninth grades; and (3) to determine which events, if any, can be used to predict athletic performance.
This study is important to physical educators working with junior high school boys. There is a need for adequate measurement of progress in physical achievement and also a need for ways in which instructors might predict athletic ability at this age level.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the interscholastic football and basketball sports officiating practices in the United States by (1) determining to what extent the various states certify officials, (2) what the requirements are for certification, (3) the methods of selecting officials for athletic contests, (4) the types of control the state athletic associations exert over officials regarding officials' appeals, conduct of officials, penalties for violations and settlement of disputes, (5) how the officials and the schools are rated, (6) the fees paid to the officials, (7) and the preparation made by officials who officiate interscholastic athletic contests.

The purpose of this study is to determine what types of playgrounds and playground equipment are being used in the elementary schools of New Mexico and to compare and evaluate the size, placement, and serviceability of these facilities according to standards set forth by the National Recreation Association and other authorities.
This study is largely concerned with information and material gathered from the elementary schools in municipal systems within this state, but information from two independent rural schools will be used. Private and parochial schools will not be considered in this study.

Individualization in education depends upon accurate appraisal of fundamental characteristics. A better understanding of physical abilities and potentials is essential to improvement of the physical education program. This means that the methods of science involving analysis and modification should be applied to the physical factors as well as to any other aspects of human behavior. A man is the sum total of his abilities. Abilities vary, both the inherent and the acquired. If it is important for a teacher or coach to judge ability and performance, then it is important to have adequate objective measurements pertaining to these factors.

It is the purpose of this study to determine how and by whom the cost of medical attention, material, and hospitalization for athletic injuries among high school athletes is paid in the several states of the United States. The study will be confined to injuries sustained in interscholastic contests and supervised practice periods for such contests.
