A scientific study of basketball has been carried on at Marquette University for the past five years under the guidance of Coach William S. Chandler. Charts and graphs have played an important part in assisting Coach Chandler in developing his teams.

Studies of this nature have been carried on for the past five years starting from the 1932-33 season, when Clem Eible compiled the first collected work on the team, followed by Adolph Gorychka who based his work on the 1933-34 season. The following is a History of Intramural Athletics at Marquette University, divided into three divisions, the Past, Present and Future. The purpose of this is to trace and show how Intramurals were in the Past; how they have improved; what they are at Present; and what they should be in the Future.
