A280: Physical Activity, Social Support, And Stress Among High School Students, Moderating Effects Of Only-Child Status, Yining Hu Jan 2026

A280: Physical Activity, Social Support, And Stress Among High School Students, Moderating Effects Of Only-Child Status, Yining Hu

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Stress levels reflect an individual's psycho-physiological imbalance in response to environmental demands. Research suggests that physical activity not only directly alleviates negative emotions but may also indirectly reduce stress levels by enhancing social support networks. However, the underlying mechanisms of this pathway and the moderating effects of family structure differences (e.g., only-child status) are unclear. This study aimed to explore the relationship between physical activity and stress levels among high school students in Shandong Province, test the mediating role of social support between the two, and analyze the moderating effect of only-child status on the relationship. Method: The present study …

A276: A Grounded Theory Study: Could Outdoor Hiking Foster Meaningfulness In Life For Urban Gen-Z?, Weikang Liao, Li Li

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Urban Generation Z (youth born between 1995 and 2009 in cities) has grown up in highly digitized and urbanized environments, facing contemporary challenges such as social alienation and a lack of meaning in life. While outdoor hiking is recognized as a stress-relief activity, its specific mechanisms for fostering meaning in life among Generation Z remain unclear. Existing studies predominantly focus on the physical and mental health benefits of outdoor activities, neglecting the dynamic construction of meaning in life and particularly overlooking the unique characteristics of this generational cohort. This study aims to uncover the distinct pathways through which urban Generation …

A285: Effects Of Aerobic Exercise On Young Women With Binge Eating Disorder: A Randomized Controlled Trial, Shihui Cao, Ruyun Wang, Shanshan Mao

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Binge eating disorder (BED) is one of the most common eating disorders. It is more common in young women than in other groups and can lead to adverse physical and psychological problems. Previous studies have revealed that aerobic exercise is effective in reducing overeating, but it is not clear which exercise intensity works best. This study, therefore, compared the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on body composition and mental state of young women with BED. 30 BED young women (Mage = 20.07 years, SD = 0.20) who didn't regularly participate in physical activity were …

A297: Biomechanical Analysis In Balance And Landing Among Male Collegiate Soccer Athletes With Functional Ankle Instability, Qi Wang, Ziwen Mu, Hanyan Yan, Xiao Zhou

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Football is a sport with a high risk of injury, with ankle sprains being common, affecting 12%-23% of players. After functional treatment, over 40% of patients still experience recurrent sprains or giving, known as functional ankle instability (FAI). Limited research exists on the movement patterns of male university football players with or without FAI. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the biomechanical differences in Single-Leg Balance (SLB), Bipodal Landing (BL), and Single-Leg Landing (SLL) between male collegiate soccer athletes with and without functional ankle instability. We recruited 36 male collegiate soccer athletes (mean age: 19.69 ± 1.69 years). A questionnaire …

A305: The International Communication Path Of Table Tennis Sports Presentation, Mingchen Xu, Xiyu Zhao

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Table tennis carries a unique mission of cross-cultural communication. In 1971, the "Ping-Pong Diplomacy" with the strategic wisdom of "a small ball turning a big ball" set a classic model for sports public diplomacy. As a carrier of national cultural symbols, the international communication of table tennis should rely on major events to tell the table tennis story to achieve presentation and Presentation. As a key for event communication, in table tennis events, is driven by the synergy of three-dimensional elements: "competitive core + technological extension + commercial drive". Specifically, through the organic combination of visual and auditory elements and …

The risk of bias of the included literature was assessed according to ROB 2.0. Heterogeneity of study results …

A003: The Relationship Between Personal Values And Leisure-Time Exercise: A Three-Wave Longitudinal Study, Guozhuang Chen, Chun Xie, Jiamei Liang, Kun Wang Jan 2026

A003: The Relationship Between Personal Values And Leisure-Time Exercise: A Three-Wave Longitudinal Study, Guozhuang Chen, Chun Xie, Jiamei Liang, Kun Wang

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Although the benefits of exercise have been firmly established, numerous young people continue to engage in low levels of exercise. In studies of exercise behavior facilitators, exercise motivation has been mostly applied to eliciting an individual's exercise behavior. However, motivation is influenced by various factors and is unlikely to remain stable over time. Consequently, to ensure the sustained participation in exercise of young people, it’s significant to find more stable facilitators of exercise behaviors. This study, grounded in the "self-determined theory" and Schwartz’s personal values model, begins by focusing on a more stable behavioral determinant, personality—personal values—to provide a deeper …

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

With the rapid increase in rowing training load, high subjective load may force athletes to use more nerve impulses and cognitive resources. However, the neural resources of athletes are limited, and being in this state for a long time may have a negative effect, such as reducing information processing ability stability, and even non-contact injury. The primary aim of this study was to investigate the effects of a respiratory muscle warm-up intervention on oxygen saturation in the prefrontal lobe and muscles of athletes. A total of 54 participants were recruited for the study, with an average age of 21.35 years. …

A010: Effects Of Blood Flow Restriction Interval Training On Aerobic, Anaerobic, And Muscle Strength: A Meta-Analysis, Xin Zheng, Kaixiang Zhou Jan 2026

A010: Effects Of Blood Flow Restriction Interval Training On Aerobic, Anaerobic, And Muscle Strength: A Meta-Analysis, Xin Zheng, Kaixiang Zhou

International Journal of Physical Activity and Health

Implementing blood flow restriction (BFR) during exercise is becoming an increasingly useful adjunct in exercise and rehabilitation settings. Studies have shown that the advantages of combining BFR with training can be observed in two scenarios: (1) lower absolute intensity training (such as walking) induces adaptations similar to high-intensity training (such as interval running); (2) higher physiological stimuli can be achieved during moderate-to-high-intensity exercise, leading to greater improvements in aerobic, anaerobic, and muscular parameters. The former has been well documented in previous studies, but there is a lack of consensus regarding the combination of BFR (during or after exercise) with interval …
