The gap in the research this study sought to fill was concerned with elementary education teachers’ experiences teaching students with trauma to learn how to hope using children’s literature. The purpose of this multicase, qualitative study dissertation was to describe how the leadership characteristics of the founders of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) inform today’s music educators’ leadership abilities. During the 1907 Keokuk conference the founding members discussed the first set of guiding principles for various subjects within the music discipline including chorus, band, and piano. For this study, the research questions are focused on the similarities in leadership styles of music education leaders past and present. Suggestions for improvement of teacher and administrator leadership characteristics were revealed by the leaders themselves.

Over the past twenty years, Catholic elementary schools that self identify as “inner-city” have closed at a higher rate than Catholic schools in other locations. These schools have also long been associated with a legacy of effectively serving low-income students, students of color, and recent immigrant students, suggesting that the persistent closure of these schools may have a negative impact on these communities. การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์พัฒนาการอ่านโดยเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจของนักเรียนประถมศึกษาก่อนและหลังทดลอง ภายหลังจากการเรียนรู้ด้วยวิธีการตั้งคำถามตนเองร่วมกับเทคนิคเควสชันฟอมูเลชั่น กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 6/2 โรงเรียนเอกชน ปีการศึกษา 2566 จำนวน 36 คน ซึ่งได้มาจากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง (Purposive Selection) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบไปด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้วิธีการอ่านด้วยการตั้งคำถามตนเองร่วมกับเทคนิคเควสชันฟอมูเลชั่นเรื่องการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจ จากการให้คะแนนของผู้เชี่ยวชาญจำนวน 3 คน หาค่าความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 1.00 2) แบบทดสอบเกี่ยวกับการอ่านเพื่อความจากการให้คะแนนของผู้เชี่ยวชาญจำนวน 3 คน หาค่าความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 0.67 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต (x ̅) ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (SD) และวิเคราะห์ความแตกต่างของค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจทั้ง 4 ระดับ ได้แก่ ระดับการอ่านตามตัวอักษร ระดับการอ่านตีความ ระดับวิจารณญาณ และระดับการนำไปใช้หรือการประยุกต์ใช้ โดยการทดสอบค่า t ของกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกันที่ระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ผลการวิจัยพบว่า คะแนนเฉลี่ยรวมของการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจ และคะแนนเฉลี่ยของคะแนนการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจ ประกอบด้วย ระดับการอ่านตามตัวอักษร ระดับการอ่านตีความ ระดับวิจารณญาณ หลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนทดลองอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และคะแนนเฉลี่ยระดับการนำไปใช้หรือการประยุกต์ใช้หลังการทดลองสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลองอย่างไม่มีนัยยะสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05

ในสังคมปัจจุบัน เด็กยังต้องได้รับการพัฒนาในเรื่องความเห็นอกเห็นใจระหว่างกัน ดังนั้นการจัดการเรียนการสอนสามารถพัฒนาการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่นของนักเรียนได้ การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่นของนักเรียนก่อนและหลังได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เกมเป็นฐาน 2) เปรียบเทียบการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่นของนักเรียนที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เกมเป็นฐานกับนักเรียนที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้ตามปกติ โดยมีกลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4/9 จำนวน 31 คน และมีกลุ่มควบคุมเป็นนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4/10 จำนวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการสอนวิชาสังคมศึกษาที่มีการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เกมเป็นฐาน 2) แผนการสอนวิชาสังคมศึกษาแบบปกติ 3) แบบวัดการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่น 4) แบบสังเกตการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่นของนักเรียน 5) แบบสัมภาษณ์นักเรียน ผู้วิจัยเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลและทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยการคำนวณหาค่าสถิติพื้นฐาน ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ยเลขคณิต ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และเปรียบเทียบการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่นของนักเรียน โดยใช้สถิติวิเคราะห์ t-test ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) นักเรียนกลุ่มทดลองมีค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่นหลังได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เกมเป็นฐาน (คะแนนเฉลี่ย=36.55) สูงกว่าก่อนเรียน (คะแนนเฉลี่ย=32.90) อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (p=.017) 2) นักเรียนกลุ่มทดลองมีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการเห็นอกเห็นใจผู้อื่น (คะแนนเฉลี่ย=36.55) สูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม (คะแนนเฉลี่ย=33.47) อย่างไม่มีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (t=1.361, p=.179)

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับการปฏิบัติของครูตามแต่ละปัจจัยในการส่งเสริมความสามารถในการเรียนรู้แบบนำตนเองของนักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 2) เสนอแนวทางให้ผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในการจัดการศึกษาระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ได้ส่งเสริมความสามารถในการเรียนรู้แบบนำตนเองของนักเรียนได้อย่างเหมาะสม ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมผสาน (Mixed Method Research) คือ ใช้การเก็บข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณและเชิงคุณภาพ ประชากรและกลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ครูผู้สอนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 โรงเรียนทางเลือก กรุงเทพมหานคร ทำการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถามเพื่อศึกษาระดับการปฏิบัติของครูตามแต่ละปัจจัยในการส่งเสริมความสามารถในการเรียนรู้แบบนำตนเองของนักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 รวมทั้งศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยทำการสัมภาษณ์และสังเกตการจัดการเรียนการสอนของครูผู้สอนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานและใช้การวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา (Content Analysis) แบบอุปนัย (Analytic Induction) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ครูส่วนใหญ่มีระดับการปฏิบัติการส่งเสริมความสามารถในการเรียนรู้แบบนำตนเองนาน ๆ ครั้ง กล่าวคือมีการสร้างเจตคติในการเรียนรู้มากที่สุด และสร้างความพร้อมในการเรียนรู้น้อยที่สุด ซึ่งแตกต่างจากที่ผู้วิจัยไปทำการสัมภาษณ์และสังเกตการจัดการเรียนการสอนพบว่าครูมีการปฏิบัติอย่างสม่ำเสมอ อภิปรายได้ว่าข้อความในแบบสอบถามอาจมีความกำกวมทำให้ครูผู้สอนมีความเข้าใจที่คลาดเคลื่อนได้

Objective: To report the development and validity assessment of a comprehensive model of assessment method comprising written test and multiple mini interviews for selection in a medical internship programme.
Method: The psychometric validation study was conducted at the Aga Khan University, Karachi, and comprised anonymised scores of written admission test, multiple mini interviews and exit written exams for all the interns who completed their internships in 2018 and 2019. Correlation between admission and exit tests, and predictions were assessed. Data was analysed using SPSS 20.

This study examines how a rural-serving school district aimed to provide elementary-level computer science (CS) by offering instruction during students’ computer lab time. As part of a research-practice partnership, cross-context mathematics and CS lessons were co-designed to expansively frame and highlight connections across – as opposed to integration within – the two subjects. Findings indicated that most students who engaged with the lessons across the lab and classroom contexts reported finding the lessons interesting, seeing connections to their mathematics classes, and understanding the programming. Overwhelmingly, White, middle-class English-speaking women who may not completely understand their students' cultural backgrounds are teachers in those culturally diverse classrooms. In schools where Eurocentric values, assumptions, beliefs, and methodologies are being taught, many students of color are not performing well academically. A student’s sense of belonging in the classroom makes a difference. Students who experience a feeling of belonging within the learning environment are more engaged and prepared to learn and contribute. Students who do not feel this sense of belonging in the classroom often pull away from school norms, and may separate themselves from formal education entirely. This dissertation explores the lived experience of nature-based educators in Duluth, Minnesota. Portraiture served as the methodological framework for learning about how teachers in Duluth got into teaching and why they remain on the job. Teacher turnover and attrition is a national problem exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, teachers who perceive better working conditions are less likely to leave the profession. Phase Two of this project, conducted during the 2021 academic year, repeated an A-B-A withdrawal design to rotate (across terms 2, 3, and 4) the furniture in 4 primary school classrooms from innovative to traditional furniture arrangements.¹ A fifth classroom with innovative furniture was used as a control. Three-weekly repeated measures were taken across the terms of: (1) characteristics impact students’ engagement, namely creative thinking, peer support and risk taking, (2) teachers’ observed actions in their classrooms, and (3) photographs by students of their preferred furniture item/s, with annotations explaining this preference. Schools must provide equitable education to English learners (ELs), ensure equitable opportunities to education programs, and facilitate comprehensible instruction. ELs encounter challenges consisting of learning English, adjusting to a new culture, achieving academic expectations, and assimilating. The focus for this research paper was to explore which math manipulatives are the most effective for each strand of the B.E.S.T. standards. The review of literature provided information about the history of math manipulatives, what are math manipulatives, B.E.S.T. standards, and the six strands. A review of the most commonly used math manipulatives was part of the literature viewed during the research process in order to see how those manipulatives can be connected to the B.E.S.T. standards, so that students can effectively understand more abstract concepts.

The purpose of this program analysis is to assess the Food Education Project (FEP), which is one of many projects addressing nutrition education and the long-term public health impact is to solve the problems of food insecurity and childhood obesity. This qualitative study explores how the transitional identities and experiences of Foreign Born Chinese Origin Asian Immigrant (FBCOAI) leaders influence their leadership practices in American Immersive Chinese Language Program. In the Chinese immersion programs, FBCOAI leaders are those with ethnicity Chinese who entered the United States during adulthood, and immigrated during their adulthood. The effects of active shootings should be a priority to provide needed assistance to 4-H youth and families in coping with their social-emotional well-being. Exposure to such violence can lead to lasting impacts on youth that can affect behavior. Addressing this sensitive topic is crucial in ensuring that Extension professionals are prepared to meet the needs of youth and families. Higher rates of depression, aggression, to name a few, are a result of having witnessed such events as a shooting. Providing training for Extension personnel can aid in reducing the amount of PTSD and other social-emotional trauma.
