The reading achievement gap is generally identified as the increasing disparity between higher-level students and lower-level students within the same grade or school level. Student data presented in the form of secondary reading assessment scores were analyzed for the state of Georgia, as well as nationally, for student achievement regarding reading skills in public schools from grades 3-5. Interviews conducted with educational professionals were conducted to reveal anecdotal manifestations of what the presented data looks like in terms of student ability, and how the teaching practice has reacted to such manifestations. This Improvement Science Dissertation in Practice evaluated the impact of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) on literacy achievement in a rural East Texas district. Following an initial evaluation, an instructional framework was collaboratively developed with teachers. Using mixed methods, the study analyzed teacher perceptions and student achievement data from NWEA MAP and STAAR assessments. Quantitative results indicated that grade levels with initial, higher rates of achievement compared to their peers, experienced weaker growth over time. Weaker MAP growth was also observed in STAAR tested grade levels, while students in K-1 exhibited statistically significant growth from fall to spring testing periods. Teacher …

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองในการปฏิบัติงานของครูระดับประถมศึกษาในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาการประถมศึกษา และ2) ศึกษาแนวทางการส่งเสริมการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองในการปฏิบัติงานครูของครูประถมศึกษาในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาการประถมศึกษา กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ ครูประถมศึกษาในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาการประถมศึกษา จำนวน 817 คน และกลุ่มเป้าหมายในการสนทนากลุ่ม คือ ผู้บริหารโรงเรียน นักวิชาการ และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ จำนวน 5 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถาม และแบบบันทึกการสนทนากลุ่ม สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) ระดับการเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองของครูประถมศึกษาในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็ก ในลักษณะทางกายภาพ โดยภาพรวม อยู่ในระดับมาก ส่วนข้อเสนอแนะจากคำถามปลายเปิด พบว่า ครูในโรงเรียนขนาดเล็กส่วนใหญ่ภาคภูมิใจในบทบาทตนเองจากความทุ่มเทในการสอน ความสำเร็จของนักเรียน และจิตวิญญาณความเป็นครู แม้มีอุปสรรค เช่น ภาระงานที่ไม่เกี่ยวกับการสอนหรือความร่วมมือที่ไม่เพียงพอ แต่ครูสามารถปรับตัวเพื่อรักษาคุณภาพชีวิตและแรงจูงใจในการทำงานได้ 2) การเห็นคุณค่าในตนเองของครูประถมศึกษาขึ้นอยู่กับปัจจัยหลายด้าน ได้แก่ ลักษณะทางกายภาพ เช่น การแต่งกาย สุขภาพ และบุคลิกภาพที่ดี ซึ่งช่วยส่งเสริมความมั่นใจ ความสัมพันธ์กับผู้อื่น และแรงจูงใจในการทำงาน ลักษณะส่วนบุคคล เช่น ทัศนคติ ความสามารถ และนิสัย ก็มีผลต่อ Self-Esteem ครูที่ปรับตัวได้ดีและได้รับการสนับสนุนเหมาะสมจะมีความมั่นใจในการพัฒนา หากเผชิญความเครียดโดยไม่มีการดูแลอาจส่งผลลบต่อคุณค่าในตนเอง ความสัมพันธ์ในสังคมก็มีบทบาทสำคัญ ครูที่ได้รับการยอมรับจากผู้บริหาร เพื่อนร่วมงาน และผู้ปกครอง จะรู้สึกภาคภูมิใจในบทบาทของตน บรรยากาศองค์กรที่เกื้อหนุน การเปิดโอกาสให้ครูแสดงศักยภาพ ช่วยเสริมแรงบันดาลใจและความมั่นคงในอาชีพครูอย่างยั่งยืน

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาและใช้ชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดการเรียนการสอนแบบสืบเสาะหาความรู้ 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบการรู้สารสนเทศก่อนกับหลังการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมของนักเรียนกลุ่มทดลอง และ 3) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบการรู้สารสนเทศหลังการใช้ชุดกิจกรรมของนักเรียนกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ภาคต้น ปีการศึกษา 2567 โรงเรียนสาธิตจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ฝ่ายประถม 2 ห้องเรียน จำนวน 76 คน ได้มาอย่างเจาะจง และมีการเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย 1) ชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดการเรียนการสอนแบบสืบเสาะหาความรู้ 2) แบบประเมินการรู้สารสนเทศ 3) แบบวัดการรู้สารสนเทศฉบับย่อย และ 4) แบบวัดการรู้สารสนเทศ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา สถิติที่ใช้ในการทดสอบสมมุติฐานใช้การทดสอบค่าที (t-test Independent ของกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม) และ (dependent sample t-test ของกลุ่มทดลองก่อนและหลังการทดลอง) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กลุ่มทดลองมีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการรู้สารสนเทศหลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียน และค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการรู้สารสนเทศของผู้เรียนที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนการสอนด้วยชุดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดการเรียนการสอนแบบสืบเสาะหาความรู้สูงกว่าผู้เรียนที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนการสอนแบบปกติ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05

คุณภาพของครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัลซึ่งเป็นยุคที่เทคโนโลยีได้เข้ามามีบทบาทในการปฏิบัติงานให้เกิดคุณภาพและประสิทธิผลของการจัดการเรียนรู้ของครูประถมศึกษา งานวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ1) ศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นเกี่ยวกับคุณภาพครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล และ 2) นำเสนอแนวทางส่งเสริมคุณภาพครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสานวิธีโดยการวิจัยนี้ดำเนินการใน 2 ระยะ ได้แก่ ระยะที่ 1 การสำรวจความต้องการจำเป็นเกี่ยวกับคุณภาพครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล ตัวอย่างวิจัยเป็นครูผู้สอนระดับประถมศึกษาจากการสุ่มแบบแบ่งชั้น (stratified random sampling) ได้กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 486 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการวิเคราะห์ความต้องการจำเป็น และระยะที่ 2 การสังเคราะห์แนวทางการพัฒนาครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล ใช้การสนทนากลุ่มผู้เชี่ยวชาญจำนวน 6 คน วิเคราะห์เนื้อหาและสร้างแนวทางฯ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. ผลการศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาคุณภาพครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล มีความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาคุณภาพครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล ทั้ง 7 องค์ประกอบและ 2. ผลการนำเสนอแนวทางส่งเสริมคุณภาพครูประถมศึกษาในยุคดิจิทัล พบว่า ผู้เชี่ยวชาญได้ให้ข้อเสนอแนะในการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ในการจัดการเรียนรู้ของครูผู้สอน สร้างความร่วมมือกับทุกภาคส่วนทั้งผู้ปกครองและหน่วยงานอื่น ๆ มุ่งเน้นการวิเคราะห์ผู้เรียนรายบุคคลก่อนออกแบบการจัดการเรียนรู้ ส่งเสริมการใช้สื่อเทคโนโลยีและการเฝ้าระวังอันตรายที่จะเกิดขึ้นจากการใช้เทคโนโลยี นำกระบวนการชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ทางวิชาชีพในรูปแบบดิจิทัลมาใช้เพื่อส่งเสริมให้ครูมีกรอบคิดแบบเติบโตโดยผู้บริหารและหน่วยงานต้นสังกัดควรมีการประกาศเกียรติคุณ ยกย่องและให้รางวัลแก่ครูที่มีผลงานปฏิบัติที่เป็นเลิศและเป็นที่ประจักษ์

Students, especially those with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities oftentimes need support in learning to work independently. This study examined if the use of structured work systems increased student independence during regular scheduled independent work times in the general education and MSD special education classrooms. Using a single-case multiple-probe design, this study measured the percentage of steps completed independently when working with academic tasks related to individual IEP goals.

Despite a tremendous increase in the use of video for conducting research in classrooms as well as preparing and evaluating teachers, there remain notable challenges to using classroom videos at scale, including time and financial costs. Recent advances in artificial intelligence could make the process of analyzing, scoring, and cataloguing videos more efficient. These advances include natural language processing, automated speech recognition, and deep neural networks. Design fixation is a distinct and established research topic at a post-secondary level which has shown that practitioners of engineering in any capacity (e.g., K-12 students, engineering students, college professors, or professional engineers) can experience fixation. Some research has shown that elementary and secondary students exhibit signs of design fixation while working on engineering design challenges (Luo, 2017; Mentzer et al., 2015). This research brief provides a definition of design fixation, describe fixation in the K-12 classroom, and suggest additional needed research.

The rollout of Mexico’s new national free textbooks (LTG) at the outset of the 2023-2024 school year sparked a political crisis. Several states sued to prohibit their distribution and segments of civil society protested that they were designed to “indoctrinate” children in leftist ideology and sexual and gender diversity. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the bans and controversy on the classrooms of elementary, middle, and telesecundaria teachers. An ethnographic methodology was employed with semi-structured interviews and field notes collected at three schools each in Guanajuato and Puebla. It aims to explore key characteristics that define high-quality literature in this genre, considering cultural relevance, educational value, linguistic accuracy, and representation of diverse Hispanic experiences. By reviewing books published during this period, the research evaluates how these works support language development, multicultural understanding, and early literacy skills among young readers. The study also highlights the importance of selecting books that reflect authentic Hispanic voices and experiences, promoting inclusivity and diversity in early childhood education.

This study explores the effectiveness of the i-Ready Mathematics program in enhancing third-grade students’ understanding of fractions through a mixed-methods approach. Utilizing an explanatory sequential design, this research combines quantitative analysis of student diagnostic and F.A.S.T. assessment scores in mathematics with qualitative observational data. The study aims to assess whether i-Ready serves as a supportive tool for fraction learning and identify behavioral factors influencing student engagement.

Despite its importance, many students struggle with math, leading to nationwide declines in math proficiency. School music ensemble participation has many benefits for students, including social well-being and improving academic performance; however, a variety of barriers, such as fear or lack of interest prevent many students from participating. To improve recruitment in music ensemble classes, Pittsburg Community Middle School created an exploratory class schedule that commenced with the 2022-2023 school year during which almost all sixth-grade students enrolled in three-week rotations of band, choir, and orchestra with the option to choose one option for the rest of the school year. Preservice teachers (PSTs) in an educational foundations course were tasked with leading elementary students in an engineering design challenge. In order to explore different approaches for helping the PSTs develop competence in engineering education, two implementation methods were tested. In Spring 2022, PSTs collaborated with undergraduate engineering students to develop carnival-themed design challenge lessons. In Fall 2022, PSTs worked with their PST classmates to teach a professionally prepared engineering lesson focused on designing plastic filters. The purpose of this research is to explore student perspectives, as it relates to inclusive and culturally responsive teaching practices. In order to uplift student voices in the elementary classroom, observations and interviews were conducted to collect data on student perceptions. This study found that students believe the teacher’s job is to help everyone, students want a sense of belonging, and students love when their teacher celebrates them.
