This study explores how middle school-aged youths at an afterschool center utilized, examined, and produced AI applications for social good with the support of adults and peers. The study employs a qualitative single case study design. It uses thematic analysis and quantitative ethnography methods to analyze data from multiple sources, including field notes, interviews, focus groups, story completions, video recordings, and artifacts. Findings indicated that engaging youths in critical exploration of AI tools enhanced their ability to design interest-based AI applications that provide solutions for healthcare problems, security, and accessibility. Moreover, the computational thinking practices that youth engaged in increased …

Book Review: Robot-Proof: Higher Education In The Age Of Artificial Intelligence By Joseph Aoun, Jordan O'Connell
Essays in Education
This book review examines Robot-Proof: Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence by Joseph Aoun, which focuses on the imperative to evolve higher education in preparation for AI-driven job labor market shifts that are only now entering the public consciousness. Aoun advocates for a new "humanics" curriculum that emphasizes cognitive skills and literacies robots cannot replicate. Rebranding Originality For The Age Of Ai, Jason Gulya
Rebranding Originality For The Age Of Ai, Jason Gulya
International Journal of Emerging and Disruptive Innovation in Education : VISIONARIUM
"Originality" has been a longstanding focal point within the college classroom, with students being encouraged to embrace creativity and boldness. The traditional view of originality, relying solely on one's wit and imagination, has lost its effectiveness in the present era. The concept of learning has undergone a significant transformation, no longer resembling the isolated ivory tower of the past where individuals would immerse themselves in books, hoping to be inspired. Instead, modern learning has become more social and collaborative. Students compare and contrast class material with online resources, engaging in conversations, both in person and virtually, to solidify their understanding. …
Case Study: The Impact Of Emerging Technologies On Cybersecurity Education And Workforces, Austin Cusak
Case Study: The Impact Of Emerging Technologies On Cybersecurity Education And Workforces, Austin Cusak
Journal of Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice
A qualitative case study focused on understanding what steps are needed to prepare the cybersecurity workforces of 2026-2028 to work with and against emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Conducted through a workshop held in two parts at a cybersecurity education conference, findings came both from a semi-structured interview with a panel of experts as well as small workgroups of professionals answering seven scenario-based questions. Data was thematically analyzed, with major findings emerging about the need to refocus cybersecurity STEM at the middle school level with problem-based learning, the disconnects between workforce operations and cybersecurity operators, the …

The Use Of Artificial Intelligence In Higher Education: A Study On Faculty Perspectives In Universities In Egypt, Farah S. Sharawy
Theses and Dissertations
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an emerging technology that is transforming various aspects of society, including higher education. This paper examines faculty perspectives from five different institutions; The American University in Cairo (AUC), The German University in Cairo (GUC), The Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST), Ain Shams University, and Cairo University, on the use of AI in higher education in teaching and learning in Egypt, with all its challenges and resources available to support it, and how it can be used to achieve equity and accessibility. This research was conducted through a qualitative study using semi-structured one- on-one interviews …
Integrating Artificial Intelligence Into Creativity Education: Developing A Creative Problem-Solving Course For Higher Education, Selma Dawani
Creativity and Change Leadership Graduate Student Master's Projects
This project aims to develop an introductory college course that integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) process. Drawing on best practices for teaching CPS and the latest research of AI, the project outcomes are prototypes of a Master Course Development Document, Student Syllabus, and Lesson Plan with accompanying PowerPoint slides. The course will equip students with the knowledge and skills to apply AI techniques to the CPS process. This project aims to begin to bridge the gap between AI and CPS education, preparing students for the demands of the modern workforce while fostering interdisciplinary thinking.
