Domain-specific self-efficacy is increasingly known to be related to student academic performance. This study investigated the relationship between computer and math self-efficacy, math performance, and guided in-class use of an online educational program for adult basic education students enrolled in classes at an adult education program during the 2019 – 2020 school year. Initial math test scores and pre-survey results indicated no statistically significant relationship between computer self-efficacy and math performance, or math self-efficacy and math performance. Through a series of historical case studies of individual states within the multi-state region of the Appalachian mountain range, as well as the region as a whole, this dissertation examines educational television (ETV) operations, both at the network level and that of individual stations. Though mostly thought of as “public television”—an educational and noncommercial alternative to mainstream broadcast media—these ETV networks offered, I argue, something more analogous to present-day understandings of distance education and the use of instructional media and technology. The purpose of this paper is to describe the method of revising this traditionally taught course using a combination of flipping the classroom, team-based learning, and technology. Previous researchers have found that ESL learners have difficulties and barriers in learning phrasal verbs, and other researchers have found that how using multimedia teaching techniques in different fields of education have been effective, but no studies have investigated using multimedia instruction with community-college ESL students in learning phrasal verbs for second-language acquisition. In higher education, pivoting quickly to a fully virtual experience online in the midst of a global pandemic is an adventure. There are marked differences between the online experience for a student who was already in a web-delivered course versus one that started face-to-face and quickly pivoted to an online setting. Some assignments, lessons, and courses are easily delivered in alternate formats while other learning opportunities are much more difficult to transition for online delivery. Previous research into confusion and learning neglects to investigate how this relationship varies when faced with impact factors such as multiple types of affect and learning measurements, learning environment, or grade level. Moreover, past research also reports di-verse effect size values for this relationship, making the correlation ambiguous. As such, the current research seeks to reconcile these nuances between confusion and learning through a meta-analytic approach. In this analysis, it was found that there was no relationship between confusion and learning gains, or in the subgroup analysis of grade level. “Gamification has been used in a variety of contexts including education. In order to understand the effects of gamification in education, a meta-analysis was conducted. A bottom-up approach was used to analyze the effects of game design elements on learning outcomes found in the literature search. The result suggests that gamification can enhance student learning outcomes. Elements such as points, leaderboards, competitions, progress bars, feedback, and collaboration have medium to large effect sizes. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนารูปแบบการสอนวรรณคดีโดยใช้วิธีการสอนแบบ SQ4R ร่วมกับการเล่าเรื่องแบบดิจิทัล เพื่อส่งเสริมความสามารถการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์วรรณคดีไทย 2) ศึกษาผลของการใช้รูปแบบการสอนวรรณคดีโดยใช้การสอนแบบ SQ4R ร่วมกับการเล่าเรื่องแบบดิจิทัล เพื่อส่งเสริมความสามารถการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์วรรณคดีไทย โดยกลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 จำนวน 40 คน ระยะเวลาในการทดลอง 5 สัปดาห์ (15 คาบเรียน) โดยการเลือกแบบเจาะจง (purposive sampling method) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในงานวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบประเมินรูปแบบการสอนวรรณคดีโดยใช้วิธีการสอนแบบ SQ4R ร่วมกับการเล่าเรื่องแบบดิจิทัล และแผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล ได้แก่ แบบวัดความสามารถการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์วรรณคดีไทยและแบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นในการเรียนโดยใช้รูปแบบฯ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยการใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานและการทดสอบค่าที (t-test) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบการสอนวรรณคดีโดยใช้วิธีการสอนแบบ SQ4R ร่วมกับการเล่าเรื่องแบบดิจิทัล เพื่อส่งเสริมความสามารถการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์วรรณคดีไทยของนักเรียนระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษา ประกอบด้วย 5 องค์ประกอบ ได้แก่ 1) เนื้อหาวรรณคดีไทย 2) กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 3) ใบงาน 4) การประเมินผล 5) แหล่งการเรียนรู้และเครื่องมือ โดยมี 4 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ 1) ขั้นวางแผนระดมความคิด 2) ขั้นอ่านเอาเรื่อง 3) ขั้นวิเคราะห์ 4) ขั้นวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ ผลการทดลองใช้รูปแบบการสอนฯ พบว่า คะแนนเฉลี่ยความสามารถในการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์วรรณคดีไทยหลังเรียนสูงกว่าคะแนนเฉลี่ยก่อนเรียนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ .05 (t-test = -9.128)

The current literature discusses the use and benefits of learner-generated videos (LGVs). However, it rarely addresses any correlation between the types of subjects that are best suited for using these videos or what techniques should accompany the use of LGVs.

Background

This systematic review synthesizes current literature to identify patterns and implications that develop from the use of LGVs so that their future use can be both consistent and effective. We used a concurrent multiple-baseline research design replicated across participants to evaluate the effects of eCoaching on increasing the delivery and maintenance of behavior specific praise (BSP) in a mixed-reality Mursion™ classroom simulation. Participants consisted of four master’s students in a special education program. Results showed noteworthy increases in the rate and percent participants gave BSP during the intervention condition. Additionally, praise variety increased in all participants, and high rates of BSP were observed as the intervention was faded and removed all together. Our study extends the extant literature on an emerging evidencebased practice (i.e., BSP) and helps validate eCoaching …
