This study investigates the efficacy of emotional design in Anatomy and Medical education, a subject hitherto unexamined in emotional design studies. Further, unlike previous studies, this study utilised a natural learning environment rather than computer-based lessons. We investigated how the emotional design of lecture slides impacts mood, cognitive load and memory retention in first-year anatomy students studying medicine and dentistry in Universiti Malaya across three separate lectures. This study examined the motivating factors and self-determined behaviours of adult learners in independent piano learning through a piano learning app. It employed the narrative inquiry method to gather stories and detailed experiences from the participants through participant interviews, participant journals and self-reflexivity of the researcher. Five working adults from the Klang Valley were recruited to take part in this study and each had a different motivation for piano learning. This study investigated the perceptions of Malaysian university students and educators regarding the use of class blogs as an assessment tool in ESL courses. The objective is to provide evidence for the feasibility of this issue. The participants’ perceptions, obtained from questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, were analyzed based on Carl Rogers’ Humanistic approach to language learning.
