During the past three years, we have developed and implemented an enterprise information system (EIS) to reengineer and facilitate the administrative process for preparing and teaching distance learning courses in a midsized-to-large university (with 23,000 students). The outcome of the implementation has been a streamlined and efficient process which has delivered higher faculty satisfaction at a substantial cost reduction. In this paper, we propose a new conceptual and operational framework for process reengineering (PR) in higher education institutions. The researcher examined employee perceptions of pod casting through the use of the Technology Acceptance Model and how those perceptions influenced corporate decision making for the selection of podcasting technologies. The stratified random sample was divided into two groups: digital natives (N = 127) and digital immigrants (N = 128). Both groups consisted of employees that work within learning environments at one of three service-oriented organizations within the United States. The groups answered the survey-based test to determine their perceptions of ease of use and usefulness toward podcasting in a corporate training environment. This study of the impact of video conferencing in students' interactivity in gender segregated universities was conducted at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) as a gender segregated university. The purpose of the study was to identify the affect of video conferencing technology on student-student, and student-instructor interaction. Moreover, the study examined students' willingness tQ participate in BlackBoard online discussion as a strategy to increase student-student and student-instructor interactions in video conferencing courses at gender segregated universities.

The United States Air Force (USAF) currently employs the use of computer-based training (CET) across a host of requirements. One such requirement is in the Information Assurance (IA) arena and involves the training/licensing of over one-million computer network end-users. USAF use of CETs has been shown to possess a potential for substantial fiscal savings. However, studies investigating the learning outcomes of learning effectiveness (initial learning) and knowledge retention (sustained learning) associated with USAF CETs are lacking.

In the past six years, U.S. business schools have greatly expanded their use of computers in teaching and research. In 1966, only 11 percent of the business schools required student proficiency in programming; by 1970, the total had risen to 62 percent and is undoubtedly higher today.
