Online surveys are frequently used in higher education to collect students’ opinions. This study investigated the factors associated with students’ willingness to respond to online surveys. Using 540 samples from undergraduate and graduate students in the United States, this study conducted a factor analysis to categorize the reasons that students willingly participate in online surveys. Four factors were identified: Format, Affiliation, Content, and Contact. The regression analysis revealed format was significantly associated with the undergraduate students’ online survey participation, while content was significantly related to the graduate students’ online survey participation. Despite efforts to attract and maintain diverse students in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) pipeline, issues with attrition from undergraduate STEM majors persist. The aim of this study was to examine how undergraduate science students’ competence beliefs, task values, and perceived costs in science combine into motivational profiles and to consider how such profiles relate to short-term and long-term persistence outcomes in STEM. We also examined the relations between underrepresented group membership and profile membership. Using the theory of planned behavior and self-determination theory, this study explored the relationship between persistence in college for students in traditional or corequisite remediation. Building on and extending earlier research on student self-concepts and studies investigating teachers working with students with social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties, disorders, or disturbance, this longitudinal study examined teacher self-concepts in relation to their willingness to teach challenging students in mainstream classrooms. In the current study, “challenging students” refer to those who may pose a challenge to the teacher, either behaviourally or academically. Statistical measures included analysis of variance, correlation analysis, path analysis, and commonality analysis. Additionally, Jennings and Greenberg (2009) demonstrated the importance of teachers’ social and emotional competence for promoting well-being and academic success in classrooms. The purpose of this qualitative study was to understand how international graduate students in their first-year of doctoral study selected their faculty advisor and how this selection process influenced their advising relationship. Our results found that a majority of students in our sample were assigned to an interim advisor and most reported a positive advising experience. However, disquieting patterns emerged from the data: low frequency of advisor-advisee interaction, occurrences of mismatching between advisor-advisee, and an unknowingness of how to engage with one’s faculty advisor. ADHD is being recognized as a diagnosis that persists into adulthood impacting educational and economic outcomes. There is an increased need to accurately diagnose this population through the development of reliable and valid outcome measures reflecting core diagnostic criteria. For example, adults with ADHD have reduced working memory capacity (WMC) when compared to their peers. A reduction in WMC indicates attention control deficits which align with many symptoms outlined on behavioral checklists used to diagnose ADHD. The development of best practices that deliver quality STEM education to all students, while minimizing achievement gaps, have been solicited by several national agencies. ABMS is a feasible approach to provide insight into global behavior based upon the interactions amongst agents and environments. In this review, we systematically surveyed several modeling and simulation approaches and discussed their applications to the evaluation of relevant theories in STEM education. It was found that ABMS is optimal to simulate STEM education hypotheses, as ABMS will sensibly present emergent theories and causation in STEM education phenomena if the model is properly validated and calibrated.

As digital technologies and media (DTM) are integrated into every facet of our lives, the knowledge and skills children bring to school is changing. It is unclear whether teacher candidates' beliefs about children's skills have kept pace with this change. To explore this issue, 43 children, ages 3–5, and 180 teacher candidates at a medium-sized Midwest research university were recruited. Teacher candidates' beliefs about preschoolers' DTM skills were compared with preschoolers' observed skills following an assessment protocol using an iPad. การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการพัฒนาทักษะอีเอฟผ่านการช่วยเหลือที่มีดนตรีเป็นฐานต่อทักษะสมองด้านการบริหารและพฤติกรรมมุ่งงานของนักเรียน ตัวอย่างในการวิจัย คือ นักเรียนประถมศึกษาตอนต้นที่กำลังศึกษาในภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2563 ในโรงเรียนสังกัดกรุงเทพมหานครแห่งหนึ่ง จำนวน 41 คน และครูประจำชั้นจำนวน 2 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย โปรแกรมการพัฒนาทักษะอีเอฟผ่านการช่วยเหลือที่มีดนตรีเป็นฐาน แบบวัดทักษะสมองด้านการบริหาร แบบสังเกตพฤติกรรม และแบบสัมภาษณ์ครู วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยหาค่าเฉลี่ย (Mean) ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard deviation) และเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยของคะแนนทักษะสมองด้านการบริหารและค่าเฉลี่ยของจำนวนการเกิดพฤติกรรมมุ่งงานของนักเรียนในระยะก่อนทดลองและหลังทดลองด้วยการวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติทดสอบทีแบบไม่เป็นอิสระ (dependent sample t-test) และใช้การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนร่วมพหุคูณ (MANCOVA) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุม ส่วนข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ ได้แก่ ข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์ครูประจำชั้น วิเคราะห์ด้วยการลงรหัสและวิเคราะห์ประเด็นเพื่อนำเสนอในรูปแบบการบรรยาย ผลการวิจัยสรุปได้ดังนี้ 1) ภายหลังการทดลอง กลุ่มทดลองมีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนทักษะสมองด้านการบริหาร และค่าเฉลี่ยของจำนวนการเกิดพฤติกรรมมุ่งงานสูงกว่าก่อนการทดลอง อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) ภายหลังการทดลอง กลุ่มทดลองมีค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนทักษะสมองด้านการบริหารสูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 3) ภายหลังการทดลอง กลุ่มทดลองมีค่าเฉลี่ยของจำนวนการเกิดพฤติกรรมมุ่งงานไม่แตกต่างจากกลุ่มควบคุม และ 4) ครูประจำชั้นมีความคิดเห็นต่อโปรแกรมฯ ในเชิงบวก

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการอ่านสะกดคำของนักเรียนที่มีภาวะเสี่ยงต่อปัญหาด้านการอ่านในชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ก่อนและหลังได้รับโปรแกรมสอนอ่านทางตรงส่งเสริมความพยายาม และเพื่อศึกษาความคิดเห็นของนักเรียน ครูและผู้ปกครองหลังจากการใช้โปรแกรมฯ การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีรูปแบบการวิจัยเชิงทดลองแบบกลุ่มเดี่ยวแบบหลายเส้นฐานข้ามบุคคล แบ่งเป็น 2 ระยะ คือ ระยะเส้นฐาน และระยะได้รับการช่วยเหลือ รวมทั้งหมด 20 ครั้ง ครั้งละ 40 นาทีตัวอย่างวิจัยคือ นักเรียนที่มีภาวะเสี่ยงต่อปัญหาด้านการอ่านชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 2 โรงเรียนเตรียมสาธิตศึกษา กรุงเทพมหานคร ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2563 จำนวน 3 คน ซึ่งผ่านเกณฑ์การคัดเลือกจากแบบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านและการเสนอชื่อจากครูประจำชั้นและครูสอนวิชาภาษาไทย เครื่องมือวิจัย แบ่งเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ เครื่องมือทดลอง ได้แก่ โปรแกรมสอนอ่านทางตรงส่งเสริมความพยายาม และเครื่องมือรวบรวมข้อมูล ได้แก่ แบบวัดผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการอ่านสะกดคำ และแบบสัมภาษณ์ความคิดเห็น ใช้สถิติบรรยายวิเคราะห์ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน คะแนนต่ำสุด-สูงสุด วิเคราะห์ด้วยกราฟเส้นเพื่อแสดงพัฒนาการของทักษะการอ่านสะกดคำ และวิเคราะห์ประเด็นความคิดเห็นจากการสัมภาษณ์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ตัวอย่างวิจัยทั้ง 3 คน มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการอ่านสะกดคำเพิ่มขึ้นหลังได้รับโปรแกรมฯ ซึ่งในระยะได้รับการช่วยเหลือมีคะแนนการอ่านสะกดคำเพิ่มขึ้นสูงกว่าระยะเส้นฐาน และ 2) ผลการสัมภาษณ์ความคิดเห็นของนักเรียน ครู และผู้ปกครองที่มีต่อโปรแกรมฯ คือ มีผลเชิงบวกต่อการใช้โปรแกรมฯ และเห็นสมควรนำไปใช้ต่อเพื่อช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะเสี่ยงต่อปัญหาด้านการอ่าน

การวิจัยนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาความหมายและองค์ประกอบความสุขในการเรียนของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น 2) พัฒนาและตรวจสอบคุณภาพของมาตรวัดความสุขในการเรียนของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น และ 3) สร้างเกณฑ์ปกติของมาตรวัดความสุขในการเรียนของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น การวิจัยระยะที่ 1 เป็นการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพโดยการสังเคราะห์เอกสาร งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง และสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกกับนักเรียนที่ผ่านเกณฑ์การคัดเข้าจำนวน 24 คน การวิจัยระยะที่ 2 เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณเพื่อพัฒนา ตรวจสอบ และสร้างเกณฑ์ปกติของมาตรวัดความสุขในการเรียนกับนักเรียน 240 คน จากโรงเรียนในเขตพื้นที่กรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งได้มาจากการสุ่มแบบหลายขั้นตอน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ความสุขในการเรียนที่ได้จากการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ ประกอบด้วย 12 องค์ประกอบ ได้แก่ (1) การมีความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีกับเพื่อน (2) การมีความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีกับครู (3) การมีความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีกับผู้ปกครอง (4) การมีสุขภาวะทางร่างกายและจิตใจที่แข็งแรงสมบูรณ์ (5) การเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง (6) การเห็นคุณค่าในการเรียนรู้ (7) การมีเป้าหมายในการเรียนรู้ (8) การมีอารมณ์ทางบวกในการเรียนรู้ (9) การกำกับตนเองในการเรียนรู้ (10) ภาวะลื่นไหลในการเรียนรู้ (11) การได้เรียนในสิ่งที่ถนัดและสนใจ และ (12) การได้อยู่ในสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ดีและเอื้อต่อการเรียนรู้ และ 2) มาตรวัดความสุขในการเรียนมีจำนวน 80 ข้อคำถาม ที่ผ่านการตรวจสอบคุณภาพของมาตรวัดด้วยวิธีการต่าง ๆ ดังนี้ (1) ความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิที่เกี่ยวข้อง (2) ความตรงเชิงภาวะสันนิษฐานสร้างด้วยเทคนิคกลุ่มรู้ชัด (t = 13.82, p < .05) และการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบเชิงยืนยันมีความสอดคล้องกับข้อมูลเชิงประจักษ์ (χ2=54.25, df =43, p = .117, χ2/df = 1.26, GFI=.964, RMSEA=.033, SRMR=.0329, CFI=.996, AGFI=.934) และ (3) ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคทั้งฉบับมีค่า .987 ผลการพัฒนาเกณฑ์ปกติในรูปแบบคะแนนทีปกติอยู่ในช่วง T17.16 – T74.78

This study focuses on the effect that attachment status and negative alliances within the family has on disruptive behavior ratings and on the closeness or conflict a child feels with their teacher and the teacher’s subsequent ratings of the severity of Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Structural equation modeling was used to determine the impact attachment status, alliances within the family, and disruptive behavior had on the closeness or conflict a teacher felt with their student and the subsequent ratings of the child’s oppositional behavior.
