This plan to establish outdoor classrooms is for the purpose of bringing outdoor/environmental education to a small rural school in South Central Georgia, kindergarten through twelfth grade, that has had very little, if any, collective concern for environmental issues heretofore. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) recommended that schools implement its Standards because they believed that the Standards improved students' mathematical ability. The purpose of this exploratory case study was to identify and describe one female Iowa secondary principal's career path to the principalship in an Iowa public high school. Several factors were considered in the selection of the participant including: demographics, administrative experience, and her willingness to spend time in the interview process.
