With dwindling resources, more responsibilities, and higher expectations being given to schools, it is not only prudent but imperative that the total community become partners in the educational process. To accomplish this end, our panel deemed it necessary to open the doors to the schools, shed the mysticism of the pedagogic process, and encourage reciprocity as teachers go to the homes, parents to the schools, students to the community, and community partners to the schools.

This master's project provided a teachers~ handbook to assist in establishing a cross-age tutoring program. In addition to a philosophy statement and a review of the literature, this project also .provided forms for implementing the program and materials for training the tutors. This manual was prepared for use in an elementary school setting and contains a step-by-step approach to establish a cross-age tutoring program.

The purpose of the study was to examine retirement decision making of certificated employees (N = 284 respondents N = 241) of the Beaverton School District in a near retirement age category. The Beaverton School District is a large suburban school district near Portland, Oregon. This study reviews the tenents of adult learning. Christian education and creative drama and presents the observation that there are parallel objectives in each of these three major areas.
